Wasn't there stories around about Evans' agent wanting £4m on top for himself out of the deal? Could be why we've steered clear.

Liverpool are being strongly linked with a move for Shaqiri (good, because I'm not a fan at all), surely if they really are trying to bring in both him and Fekir then it's a pre-emptive move to replace a departing Salah?

Still though, what kind of Premier League defender will we be able to get for £5.5 million this summer? These are the type of deals we should be making.

Of course he wouldn't. What else can he accomplish in Premier League? Even if he has another world class season it's not gonna be as good. He's never going to me worth more or be more marketable than he is right now while he's playing for Liverpool.
