Liverpool tried to lowball the fee using the knee injury he got in 2015 as an excuse, Lyon got pissed off for basically being called incompetent and cancelled the deal. It’s amateur negotiating from Liverpool.
Other Clubs Transfers 2018 Summer edition (Everton seek to burn 50m)
Haha Liverpool deserve this for the Suarez transfer and the Firmino release clause pettiness.
In other news, negotiating with Lyon continues to be a nightmare
Of course they deserve all the ridicule in the world, especially after how much praise these smug cunts were getting universally. That knee injury of his was common knowledge to try and use it to lower the fee after reaching an agreement is as scummy embarrassing and Liverpoolesque as it gets.
To be fair they don't know how bad the knee injury is until he gets a medical. So if he's knees half crocked of coarse the effects the price.
We should sign Fekir.
He'll make it a mission to score against Liverpool whenever we play them.
Get in. Need to snatch Fekir from them. 2nd time something like this happened to Pool after VVD.
West Ham targeting all the right players. Pastore, Felipe Anderson, Dendocker,
We aren’t getting Fekir while Ozil is at the club.
Gotta say I'm not entirely convinced by Fekir. Not by Thauvin either. I think Ligue 1 produce a lot of these players with bloated stats and they tend to disappoint on a bigger stage. Memphis Depay is another one. He's got a comparable output to both of them this season and he's not looking terribly different to me whenever I see him. Lacazette didn't exactly motivate his reputation either.
When you watched the games, Lacazette never really looked amazing. The only reasons I wanted Lacazette in last year was because a) he was clearly better than anything we had on our books, and b) I honestly believed that Wenger would bring in another premier forward at the beginning of the season. But when you see, Fekir in entire games in Ligue 1, you can see that he is a level above his peers. In that context, at least, he looks like a PlayStation footballer. He is able to start from deep and run at players. He can play as a pure 10, and even as a false 9 since Lacazette’s departure. Just a versatile and devastating scorer/playmaker.
Count me in the not fond of Fekir camp too
I think he needs to be more dynamic
Aye. His main outstanding attribute to me is his excellent touch, but it's of limited use when half of his dribbles are pointless and only delay things. He reminds me a little of Adel Taarabt in that sense. It's probably not gonna fly in Premier League. Bloke's tiny too. I definitely wouldn't cry if Liverpool spent a ton of cash on him instead of going after other targets.
I actually think Liverpool are right to be worried about a post-ACL knee too. You're never completely out of the woods with that type of injury. Totti and Shearer are virtually the only footballers I can think of who recovered from a cruciate ligament and actually turned out better than they were before for a prolonged period of time. It's rare, and Fekir having minor complications with his knee ever since is a bad omen.
Thomas Lemar to Atletico Madrid is a done deal after the Spanish side agreed a fee with Monaco in recent hours, according to L'Équipe.
I really don't see why Jardim seems so set on staying at Monaco when they're selling Fabinho, Lemar and are possibly letting Falcao go as well. I'm assuming that we approached him and he told us that he wasn't interested.

STOKE SIGN AFOBE
Stoke have announced the signing of striker Benik Afobe from Wolves.
The Potters, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, made Afobe their second signing of the summer on a six-month loan deal but with an obligation to purchase him for an undisclosed fee in January.
"Benik Afobe has become Stoke City's second signing of the summer transfer window, the Club are delighted to announce," a Stoke statement read.
The 25-year-old only completed a permanent switch to Wolves earlier this month after playing for them on loan from Bournemouth in the second half of last season.
Stoke boss Gary Rowett added: "If there's one signing you want to make to get you out of the Championship, Benik is that kind of player."
Huddersfield sign winger Ramadan Sobhi from Stoke City on three year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Benfica forward Raul Jimenez will join Wolves on a season-long loan deal, subject to a work permit and international clearance.
Roma have signed Justin Kluivert

How come he was so cheap? I mean for all the hype, however unjustified it may be, you’d have thought they’d do better than 15m.
The power of Monchi.
