Most weeks I watch Arsenal, I see Ozil as the only guy actually moving to get the ball and not treating it like a hot potato once he does. That may or may not be enough to warrant his wage, but I certainly appreciate it.

This is true. But it’s also true that he is not the player who was once at least KDB’s equal. The decline is hard to process

I don't think it's been that true, certainly not since Emery came in but in periods before that too.

He seems pre-occupied with physical contact. Half the time you can almost visibly see him anticipating a challenge so he can retain the ball rather than thinking about and making the right pass like he used to be so good at.

2.5 games, he was subbed off in the 2nd half for an academy kid because Freddie wanted someone who can at least run. He doesn't even move on the pitch much

Ljunberg explicitly stated why he was dropping Ozil - for his petulant attitude after a pathetic display against City.

“At Arsenal that’s not how we behave, and not what we do.” said the Invincible about the wash out.

I presume his decision on pepe, Laca, and doozi were tactical, not behavior based. Ozil’s attitude has been a problem since Wenger, was a problem for Emery, for Ljunberg, for flobaba, and will be a problem for Arteta also.

Yep he is possibly the most static number 10 in the league. He's like Matt Le Tissier but instead of screamers into the top corner you get conservative passes wide to either side of the final 3rd.
