Two points about the World Cup, illustrated with simple, hard facts:
1) He created more chances per 90 minutes than any player in the World Cup this summer:
2) No player made more key passes in a single match than he did against South Korea:
This is not the narrative you tend to hear, but he was one of their best players this summer. I think he was dead right crying foul after being singled out for criticism while his white teammates got away with bloody murder. Those 'desirable germans' were playing like sacks of shit, but they don't have bulging eyes and an indifferent body language.
