how much has ozil contributed to our success this season? emery does not seem to rate him and does not think hes physically up for the fight. so why should we hang on to him?
We have no system, we have a terrible defence and the midfield has massive wholes in it game in, game out. The least I want is some imagination and invention - not being sat in the cold watching Guendouzi, Torreira and Xhaka huffing and puffing while Kolasinac is our number one attacking outlet.
the people questioning whether we should sell ozil are not advocating selling him and not replacing him, at least i am saying we should sell him and buy attackers better suited to what emery wants to do.
we do have a system. at the beginning of the season especially we showed our desire to play down the flanks to create cutback opportunities for our strikers. i think what emery has realized is that he does not have the personnel to really utilize that way of playing. iowbi is not good enough, ozil is better suited central, as are both laca and auba. hes tried to change to the 3 ATB formation to allow bellerin and kolasinac to provide more width and create those chances. i think if we had actual wingers, he'd prefer playing 4 at the back. but we dont have wingers right now, and that is what we should be targeting in january and in the summer.
from reading your posts (and ive seen plenty of others do it), you'd swear we'd have lost 5 or 6 games already this season and we're worse off than last year. that couldnt be further from the truth. we're obviously not as free flowing as man city or liverpool yet, but our manager just got here like 7 minutes ago, and he inherited a team with a lot of holes and weak spots. rome wasnt built in a day.
