Some players are more prone that others, think frimpong and essien poping both knees on seperate occasions. Training is a factor ill prepaired or a sudden change in intensity can lead to increased risk. And pitch is a factor, artificual ones are different underfeet so until players are used to it injuries go up. or a chewed up pitch could increase the risk as players are less able to predict how the surface will react to their twists and turns. Quality of sleep is a risk factor. And proximity to the edge of the pitch is a high risk factor, so most ACL injuries are closer to the fans (OWen) they reckon the fans shouting may partly distact the player altering movment or just the shouting my effect ears which largley effect balance. And theirs a huge element of luck.

Yeah this is what I mean. Firm ground doesn't slip under your studs which is what's dangerous for ligaments and joints.

Pires & Holding were also on/near the sideline. Bellerin presumably as well due to his playing position & I'm not sure if Chambers was playing RB when he did his knee.

He still dwells on the ball too much. The leicester game somewhat highlighted the need to re-think the centre forward position

I don't want us using a target man. Let's go for fluidity up front. Theo had a great stretch in 13/14, before his injury.

There was also that 3-0 win vs United a couple of years later where they couldn't handle the movement of Theo, Sanchez and Ozil.

There were even flashes of it last night with Laca dropping deep, Auba roaming infield. I just want that movement to be more consistent.

It's too difficult for this team, at this moment. Quite rightly, we are clearly focusing on the basics of structure, shape and concentration at the moment. There were glimpses of attacking potential for the first time in ages last night, but ultimately we couldn't keep it going. I would personally say that lacazette was the biggest hindrance to us absolutely smashing Leicester, but he performed to his current ability so I won't criticise him for it.

I think Laca is the only option we have able to play the linking CF role, but the trade off is a drop in his efficiency in front of goal as seen by the number of opportunities he is failing to convert.

I was going to suggest a change in roles so that both our wide/outside forwards are the primary goal scorers in a narrow front 3, and we can look to play both Laca and Nketiah in those roles similar to PEA. However the reality is we have no idea as to how we are going to look next season in terms of shape, and who our resources are likely to be, as at this point there is no clarity as everything is dependent on if we retain UEL, let alone UCL.

Feels like he's been reborn a bit. Taken some of the lead out of his boots, and his pressing game has really become a weapon for us. Competition with Nketiah might have really been just the ticket, as well as an extended run of fitness.

Do we still move him on? I went from defending him, to the resignation that I was wrong about him, to cautiously feeling like there's still something to love in Lacazette. Isn't an Auba-Laca-Pepe front line, with Martinelli, Saka, Nelson, and Eddie breathing down their necks, a pretty decent attack for next year? That's assuming we sign both Auba and Laca up.

He has stepped up last couple of games and I feel he does enjoy being here. However I do agree we do not have the luxury to keep both him and Auba, and preference is to keep Auba. With Eddie, Martinelli and possibly Pepe as options at CF, we may not need to replace him so can put funds into more problematic positions.

I still think we should move him on and look for other players. If we can do a deal and get Partey or move for Jovic that would be ideal.

Right now Lacazette, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Guendouzi, Bellerin feel like my highest value exits. We can actually raise a lot of money. What do we do with Xhaka?

We'd need to buy a striker and that really doesn't feel like a high priority in our current state. Does selling him actually free up funds, or does it put pressure on the wrong part of the pitch? We need midfielders, badly.

It’s either sell, a new deal or lose on a free in 2 years. There’s only one of those options that sound appealing.
