It was well known, that he was furious Chelsea didn’t land Lukaku, when the world thought he was theirs. They end up paying £70mil for Morata, and now have to probably sell a year later at a loss.

As for Arteta, he may well be tactically sharp, but this is an outrageous gamble if true.

Morata has been such a massive flop. The hype around him on this forum was crazy the last couple of years but he's been far worse than Lukaku and worse event than our own much maligned Laca.

He may have excellent qualities, yet lacks the experience as the top guy.
And the PL is cutthroat.
Maybe all this noise about Arteta and Allegri is just that, noise. I hope so.
Better candidates are out there.
Flexibility and adaptability, proven developer of young players, excellent tactician who can put together a sound strategy.
TBH, I know very little about Jardim, yet he seems to fit the bill.

He had a barnstorming first half of the season and then the demands of playing as lone striker week in week out caught up with him, especially as he hasn't done that before. Even at Juventus, he had this issue of fizzling out towards the 60-70th minute of games. I remember him terrorizing Bayern / Barca in a CL semi-final and then Allegri had to bring him off on the 70th minute, which lost them the game. My point is that I think it's more physical mismanagement than him being a bad player. I still think he's comfortably better than Lacazette.

I am not worried if our next managerial appointment fail. What's the big deal? Just sack him and appoint someone new.

Maybe by then there are better and clearer standout options for us. It hasn't hurt Chelsea to try so many managers too.

If things don't turn around quickly I think there are going to be a lot more protests directed at the club and Kroenke. It got pretty bad over the past couple of years but fans tended to pull their punches out of respect for Wenger

anyone that claims poverty while managing Chelsea is clearly deflecting. If Chelsea are known for something, it's the exorbitant amount of money they can spend

They tend to spend, then stop spending fall apart then spend again.

Lukaku has had clearly the worst return out of the three in my opinion. He's hitting his supposed prime and unlike the other two he knows the league inside out, 16 league goals is a piss poor return for the most expensive centre forward ever and it should've been even less had he gotten a ban or two that he's somehow evaded. For comparison he's scored less this season than he did at West Brom six years ago.

Morata is just mentally brittle, always has been remember at Juventus his form went to shit for months on end because his girlfriend broke up with him and it wasn't even the first time. He has the highest ceiling out of the three but that's not worth much if his floor is as poor as it is. Still new to the league with different management/coaching he could become more consistent but it's not looking good right now, he's 25 having played for Chelsea Madrid and Juventus and his career high is 15 league goals.

Lacazette didn't set the world alight but he blatantly has the most room for improvement as we've been utter shit most of the season. Spent months out injured and was playing with a knock before and he still has the best scoring rate out of them. Wouldn't swap with either as we probably wouldn't have gotten Aubameyang and he's definitely the only one who could play in the same XI with him.

A good player, but the fee Real were asking for was a joke. Clubs should have refused to pay it, but Chelsea were desperate after the Lukaku fiasco.

My biggest concern is that we have just, rightly or wrongly, consigned half of the coaching staff to the bin and Arteta has no obvious power base. As a literal brand new manager, will he have the weight of authority to pull off such a massive change? Seems like we're doing too much and piling up the pressure unnecessarily.

Exactly.

In theory, the only way this makes sense, is if they are confident of landing a manger with his own staff waiting.
