The lack of any real news suggests to me that the new guy is currently in a job. I'm gonna go ahead and rule out Arteta, Ancelotti and that type.

juve wrapping up another domestic double. and they have scored 3 goals against milan. since they scored 3 goals, is allegri okay to manage arsenal now? i know we're not tolerant of only winning 1-0 or 2-0, we need to play exciting attacking football.

My rationale for appointing a "big name" would be that, that after 22 years of Wenger, the next manager's failure could seriously damage the club's worldwide reputation as a big institution. I assume a few top managers will fancy replacing Wenger, but not that many would be interested in taking over Arteta's failed project after potentially 5 years of Europa League.

Board is price sensitive as well ofcourse. A highly paid flop would mean a costly sacking
