A couple of seasons ago, this guy was playing at a level where he could have won Premier League player of the season. The biggest thing holding him back has been playing for Wenger’s mess. United recognize this and have moved for him. He’s instantly their most talented forward, even on a forward line that has a lot of really good forwards. Because United understand that you can always improve on what you have. I really hope they don’t fluke their way to the Champions League this season. We would all be on anti-depressants.
I’m glad the affair is over. He has played his role but make no mistake, this monster was of our own making, right from our poor squad building, through to our haphazard negotiating strategy with him on his specific contract.
