I don't agree with the boos , but surely our coaching staff must know he isn't doing well enough and should be pulled from the starting lineup. Wenger did this a lot with some players ,kept them comfortable in the team while under performing. .. still we haven't learned.

No player who does his best should ever be booed. It's not his fault that both Wenger and Emery keeps picking him. No player with ambition will ever admit that he's not good enough for a top club if even the manager thinks he is.

I think I heard one of the podcasts say something similar. I can see what they're saying. You might even add time to that dimension. Football is coalescing somewhat. He might have looked good in a continental league a few years ago. I'm just not sure he can be a top 4 starter anywhere serious right now.

IMO he's in the wrong position as deepest CM, and in the wrong league in that position regards the pace and physicality of the domestic game which accentuates any issues re player mobility or lack of pace.

Its getting really fucking childish now. I wanted Xhaka dropped in recent weeks too but I'm not so sure any more, he's definitely not good but who's the non-Xhaka midfield 3? Torreira has had a few chances now and he's not the one. Guendouzi is already nailed on. My preference is for Willock to start but at this stage looking at all the options I'm think Xhaka is probably the 3rd midfielder.

I hope we sell and replace Xhaka next summer but I don't see anyone in the squad to take his place right now.

Torreira has been poor because Emary is trying to convert him to an advanced role just as was seen last season with Sarri and Kante.
Play Torreira in the position and role that he gained our attention = DM ball winner.

Ceballos needs to show there's something about him. One home game against Burnley isn't enough, although I do appreciate that it's not easy for any technical/creative player to shine under Emery.
