It's not about technique, Wenger likes players that get involved in a short passing game.

I've already lost interest to the point that I think we're more likely to sign Lemar as Sanchez' replacement, and as such I don't consider him to primarily be a goal scorer as opposed to being another small technical type.

Betting suspended today on Lemar to Arsenal.

With Monaco signing this Adama Diakhaby from Rennes, tipped as Lemar's replacement, I have a feeling today might finally be the day this gets done.

Betting being suspended is often a ploy though, or alternatively because of unusual better patterns. More often than not it's not an indicator of anything.

I do think we'll get him though. The reality is Lemar isn't an amazing player, at least not yet, so to turn down 50m plus for him would be daft.

Oh I know, but in this case I genuinely think it's a case of lots of people lumping big money on because so many are saying it's done and has been for a while now.

Amazing players mostly cost more than £50m at the moment. If Wenger thinks Lemar has the goods then we should definitely be offering £50m or so. Seems like a no brainer to me. We'd easily sell him for more in a year or two anyway.

Case in point, look at Coutinho, they're talking about £100m. You're banking on Lemar actually making a step up though and not just drifting. Otherwise we could end up with a very expensive player on high wages who we can't shift again.

I think he is pretty close to that step already though. He's looked exciting the few times I've watched him and his stats are great for a player his age. We are in the Europa league this season. This is exactly the sort of move we need to make happen. You wont sign many sure things without stupid money and/or CL football.

I think this is the right kind of move too.

I've been looking at his injury record as well, couple of minor ankle injuries in the past two seasons, but not too bad.

Not that it isn't galling when you think of the sort of player we could've got for £50m two or three seasons ago.
