True, never mind the politics or polarisation. Just basic things like the US being the only wealthy country in the world with no mandatory annual leave, maternity leave or universal health care and you really have to ask whether daily quality of life is worth it if you're not on the road to being quite wealthy.

We're not talking about people marching against their government for bringing death and despair to people on distant and not so distant corners of the planet, I get that propaganda, century old racism and a perversely fucked up capitalist system makes sure that no majority will ever form to defend brown black and Muslim people elsewhere from getting bombed to pieces, it's not any different in Europe. This is different though, this is literally themselves getting killed at a rate that's unheard of in any country as obscenely rich as the US is. You're well on course to have a mass shooting per day at the end of the year, and that's just mass shootings. There's plenty wrong in many other countries but seriously if (big if I know) you have the means to relocate and find yourself and your family a new home then I really don't see anything that would hold me there. It's broken beyond repair, it probably never was not broken, and at least that aspect of the country will never be fixed.

Like you i hardly even bother to click the links so i could be wrong but the mass killers i've read about never seem to be the hardened criminals the general populace uses to justify owning assault rifles.
They are mostly poor, ignorant and unsocial young men still living with their parents.

I thought i’d posted a comment but LifeCard is the most ridiculous thing. I hope Meatwad gets his mum a proper gun (I don’t intend to steer Americans from violence). Imagine shooting someone with this thing. It has small bullets and it generates little power. After you scratch your enemy, you then spend ten seconds reloading this thing that takes a single bullet at a time, while he picks up a chair and does you in.

I hope he doesn't get his mother a gun at all. There are loads of studies showing ownership of a gun makes you less safe than having one

The whole American approach to gun ownership perpetuates tragic violence, Jones. But what I’ve found with my friends from the States is that the gun advocates are very entrenched in their views and there is little you can do to shift them. I even have a mate who spends his weekends training his 9 year old daughters how to use a rifle in the great state of Texas. Just in case there’s a revolution or she needs to protect herself from fiends.
