Honestly I can't even say I care much reading stories like these anymore. After Sandy Hook where 20 or so children were slaughtered this way how are you supposed to care when large swathes of the country still hold on to their guns like their lives depended on them when the irony of course it's the exact opposite?
We're not talking about people marching against their government for bringing death and despair to people on distant and not so distant corners of the planet, I get that propaganda, century old racism and a perversely fucked up capitalist system makes sure that no majority will ever form to defend brown black and Muslim people elsewhere from getting bombed to pieces, it's not any different in Europe. This is different though, this is literally themselves getting killed at a rate that's unheard of in any country as obscenely rich as the US is. You're well on course to have a mass shooting per day at the end of the year, and that's just mass shootings. There's plenty wrong in many other countries but seriously if (big if I know) you have the means to relocate and find yourself and your family a new home then I really don't see anything that would hold me there. It's broken beyond repair, it probably never was not broken, and at least that aspect of the country will never be fixed.
