To be fair it's not like Arsenal-supporters on here haven't said the same. I still doubt many players would choose Liverpool before us, even now.
Alexandre Lacazette

I think this is nonsense tbh. Sure it'll turn off some players but there's teams around us who signed quality regardless of their Europa league status.
Exception to the rule, as they have money to burn?

Yeah, players are not that short sighted. Well not all of them.

Pogba is the only example I can think of. And United spent crazy money on him to make it happen.
Well there's Zlatan and Mkh, Chelsea signed Luiz and Kante who choose them over us
It will be a factor for some players, it obviously doesn't help but there's other ways to compensate for that. I'm convinced if we went all out with others like we are seemingly with Mbappe we'd have some success somewhere with top class talent.
Mkhitarian wasn't that big a signing. Ibra is well past his peak. Luiz had been a joke until this season. Kante while excellent moved from Leicester. I don't think they compare to attracting the likes of Auba this summer.
Sure if we went after big players like we are with Mbappe we could sign better but its unrealistic for Wenger and Gaizidis. They'll pay for Mbappe because they see him as a guaranteed investment. £100m spent now could secure them £150m 3 years down the road.
They could have all joined or stayed with a CL club is my point. I don't think Ibra would have been short of options and Mkh and Kante choose their respective clubs over us. While it obviously makes this harder it shouldn't be the end of discussion.
You're right on Wenger and Gazidis probably but it shouldn't be the case.
They are all on big money and those clubs have won good things in recent years.
I think we are under-estimating the value of United's haul last year. They basically pulled players who were considered top 3 in each of Ligue 1, Bundesliga and Serie A in one summer. We struggle to do that for one league. They knocked out three. United's summer 2016 was awesome. They're just building on a shit foundation.
Plus it's United. That's a brand that has an appeal and prestige that's much much greater than ours
I think people are underestimating this signing if it happens. I agree that I'd much prefer the next superstar (even if his cost is way too much) but who's the next best after him? In terms of price and value, i think Lacazette is a really good option. He's far from the "Darren Bent" type player from what i've seen.

He will fit better than Giroud. Much better
Agree. Think he can become a much better striker than he currently is, while he's not Mbappé he has good technique great pace and is a reliable finisher

They finished 6th. And I wouldn't have rated Mhki in the top 3 players in Germany. Not close. And the reality is none of those players had great seasons. Ibra did the best but he wasn't that good, the guys 35, top clubs weren't bothered with him. As I said Pogba was their only real coup, he was the only one the very top teams would be interested in.
In retaliation to our situation now I think we could get players of Mkhitarians profile if we wanted them, TBH Kolasinac isn't that far removed, Bundesliga TOTS player, etc Lacazette is in a similar bracket. That its us and Athletico in for him says it all IMO. Good player but not wanted by Real, Barca, Bayern, etc
What have we got going for us when it comes to attracting players at the moment? Decent money but not top money, still a good overall reputation, London and consistency. Against us though is no CL football, not quite the top money, no league title in 13 years and we can't even talk up playing with Ozil and Sanchez because who knows if they'll stay. I left Wenger out of both sides because he is a bit of both IMO.
I'm definitely coming round to this. Good omen is the last time I played FIFA on the regular in 2014-ish I used to destroy teams with him and he had a goal in game ratio of around 2.5 or so, which might just be enough for us to win the league with Wenger at the helm
Also will he finally break the #9 curse. Wilshere off means #10 is free but would be a bit underwhelming if that went to him
The only way Lacazette can have 10 is if Mbappe has 9.
I'm assuming the club has leaked these Lacazette stories to put pressure on Mbappe to make a decision. If Mbappe does go Real we should just go get Morata.

Think Özil will take 10, pretty sure he'll extend soon. Just hope Wenger hasn't done enough to fuck Alexis off

You give our management too much credit. Always go for the simplest answer with this lot. If they bid for Lacazette, it's because they want him
Also made a few comments on Giroud, he's a good looking lad apparently.
