We can only hope that the Ox money (along with a bit extra in the kitty) will get us a gamechanger.

I was beginning to wonder whether I've been watching a different player. This thread has become pretty nauseating to read, the chirpy praise for opposition players has become increasingly difficult to read. Especially since we're not even talking about genuinely top players
We are talking about Lacazette?
Atsu and Ritchie are garbage for Toon. Ruin everything.
Atsu is alright, I didn't watch today but he's been one of their better attackers when I have watched them. Ritchie has always looked out of his depth in the PL. When he first came up with Bournemouth I thought he was going to be really good but he flopped badly.

Most posts were discussing how much superior Morata and Lukaku are. Morata I can somewhat understand, far from convinced however that he'll be as successful for Chelsea as Costa was, he was completely anonymous and should have been sent off against us
Riding Lukaku because of couple goals vs relegation battlers however is a bit embarrassing to say the least. Especially given how his glaring weaknesses (ie playing football) are as blatant as ever
Barely a footballer.

Atsu took on his man time and again but failed to beat him (Bruno?). Maybe a case of a good performance against him, but he accomplished nothing all game.
Merino is really a good talent. Been impressed with him and looks like he don't need any time to adapt at all to the league.

morata was a big miss. i wanted us to get him for years
I like this goal he scored, really difficult and he made it look routine. Quite a Henry esque goal.
He probably has the highest ceiling of all these strikers we are comparing.
That goal is straight from the Thierry Henry textbook.
That is absolute dogshit defending right there.
Henry faced defending like that too though.
It would be interesting to see what Lacazette would do in the same situation.
He wouldn't try it. He doesn't have the technique to get past Fletcher like Morata did.
It wasn't technique that got him past Fletcher but pace. The technique was the finishing.
Lacazette woulda probably tried to take it inside then shoot early.

This ffs
Imagine if this was scored anywhere outside the home of defending England, people wouldn't even acknowledge the goal
Regardless of the defending, that finish is special.

The touch when he pretends to go to the right and instead brings with him the ball on the left is definitely special. He gains a step on Fletcher without slowing down. I don't think Lacazette's good enough to do that, pace or not.

Not really, the other leagues defending is shit as well.

Think that's dead wrong. Nothing special about that goal and Lacazette has shown much better technique at least twice a game for us than "pretending" to go one direction and then another. Ozil does it with every single touch.
I'm not down on Morata like some, but this is becoming a a Lacazette bash every time another striker scores a goal.

That's basically what Jones said. The only difference between Premier League's and other league's defending is that we acknowledge that they're shit.
