and was also reportedly talking with Monaco re a 124m bid for both Mbappe & Lemar, although he says that no bid was made.

We're only 2 weeks into the window and it appears that his 2 current targets from the same club are not likely to go anywhere = move on and get the job done.

I don't have an issue with that so long as it's not the entire focus of the remaining time.
I don't think the team as it stands is good enough to win the title even with all 3 of Sanchez, Ozil & Ox staying.
IMO if the reports of AW using the kids in EUROPA & using the senior squad for the PL are correct, then he needs to win the title as he's putting his eggs into 1 basket.
IMO to sacrifice a European comp and still only challenge for top4 is a massive failure.

that meeting didnt happen this week, it was just reported this week. it happened around the france-england game. case is closed unless something out of left field happens

My bad - what about the reports of improved offers re Mbappe & Lemar?
Just because no bid was tabled does not mean we weren't negotiating offers, as we're unlikely to make further bids unless our offer is accepted, or it's a last roll of the dice.
Even then if we did sign Mbappe to replace Sanchez it's not enough to win the title.

Saw a clip of Monaco's game with Stoke yesterday, Mbappé was wearing Bernado Silva's recently vacated Number 10 shirt. Along with allt he other bits of info through the summer, I'd say he's definitely decided to stay put for another season.

It would be good for this to be put to bed this week - a new contract announced or a statement from Mbappé committing to Monaco. It's all gone on long enough.

If Sanchez is going to be allowed to leave for big money then this kid needs to be crossed off the list as a potential replacement.

I wonder if Wenger has any regrets about last summer - could he have put in the full court press for Mbappe? Given Monaco 40m, wined and dined the parents, and brought the boy to London.
I'm not so hung up on him because all he does is join a long line of Wenger's nearly-Arsenal men.

Money to Monaco was zero to do with it. The kid signed his first professional contract. It was his decision alone, Monaco were not involved in the discussion. And by all accounts, Mbappé's parents are big fans of Wenger. Mbappé just felt he owed Monaco more than walking out before having really kicked a ball for them.
