Yep. Jenko, Debuchy, Lucas, Elneny... just let the ones no one wants go for free. You'd free up a massive chunk of wages that are being wasted on guys who collectively play 10 games every league season. I like Neny and Lucas a lot but we might as well get rid if Wenger won't give them a fair crack.

I really don't care about Lacazette. He's the sort of signing you make if you want to stay in Europa League. He can come in as a squad player when we've secured Mbappe, and if we don't get Mbappe we should just stick Alexis up front next season. Lacazette can do one.

I agree that Mbappe should be a top priority it's good to see that we're at least working on alternatives in case things don't pan out. If this was last year I could easily have seen us doing one ourselves by chasing Mbappe all summer, losing Sanchez and with us all sitting there at the end of the transfer window with our dicks in our hands wishing we at least had Lacazette instead of the likes of Dat Guy. Hopefully we've learned from our previous mistakes in putting all our eggs in one basket.

according to the internet, debuchy, jenkinson, and lucas make a combined £185,000 per week. if you sell those 3, their wages will directly pay mbpappe's wages.

assuming we keep ox, he is the "replacement" for debuchy and jenkinson, and lucas is directly replaced by mbappe. so that sorts out the wages issue.

Whatever happens this window one thing is clear: we don't 'have' to lose Sanchez. He's contractually obligated to play one more season for us, and the way transfer fees are doubling every window we're reaching the point where we'd be better off just letting him run down his contract than take the £30-40 million that will be on the table for him. If £46 million only gets us fucking Lacazette then why bother? Make Alexis stay a year and deal with the problem next summer.

We faced a similar situation with van Persie a few years ago and we got it badly wrong that time. Alexis is the same thing when you account for inflation. If we want to win we need to keep our best players regardless of how much they have left on their contracts. We can't think of them as assets. The only thing that matters is the amount of quality we can field on any given day.

Also, part of the reason Sanchez doesn't want to sign a new deal is that we're showing zero ambition as a club. Who's to say he wouldn't extend if we banged in a world record fee for Mbappe and won the league next season?

One thing with the Sanchez and Ozil deals is I think that we need to de-couple those negotiations. We need to show ambition in the summer window by bringing in some marquee names, and then go talk to Sanchez after that. Once we are done with Sanchez, we can lock down Ozil. The market for Ozil exists only in free transfers right now. I don't see clubs making the 40m pound offer it will take to pique our interest.

On locking down Lacazette, I'm still traumatised by the summer of Suarez. I would've sold half the squad and tried for both Suarez and Higuain, but that's just me. Instead, we ended up holding our knobs.

Whilst I agree, ideally we should not be forced into anything regarding Sanchez and if it were up to me we'd just forxe him to stay and hope that over the course of the season we can change his mind.

However this is Arsenal and Arsene Wenger we are talking about, I have little to no confidence they have the balls to do something like that without folding to the players will amd letting him leave for a cut price deal. Thats how we roll.

Yeah, probably. What makes it more likely this time is that we're actually outside Champions League this year though, and havin guys like Sanchez and Özil in the squad makes it a LOT more likely to get back in quickly than if we sell them and reinvest the money in players who aren't as good.

I hope so mate. Logical sense and whatnot especially so when renegotiating with players yoi really want to keep. It's like these guys don't realise that the its worth paying extra money wanted by players who are coming to the end of their contracts but are important to your plans. We cheap out far too often and end up spending even more when it comes to fees and wages for poorer players because we couldn't do a cost benefit analysis on extending a wanted players contract by x years vs getting a similar quality player for the same number of years even taking into consideration the fee recouped. It's just stingyness that keeps costing us.

We have until December 31st to lock these guys down. The key is to not let media mania scare us into selling them. There are very few elite clubs that actually need these players and would outpay us. We need two more players of their quality. That should've been the strategy the last two summers, not the clusterfucks that ensued. We need to get that right. And then the conversation wih Sanchez and Ozil is very easy

On Mbappe, I would do 100+ Giroud if the handsome one is willing to be a makeweight. I think I've only ever seen a makeweight in the Torres transfer to Liverpool, so I'm not holding my breath

Like Wenger even gives a shit about media or fan pressure. He will do what he feels is best and history has shown usually it id what's besy for the player (at least it's what the player wants) rather than what we believe is best for the club.

If he doesn't renew and we bring in a proper replacement I'd sell Sanchez if he is willing to go abroad. No need to keep a player that's already reputed to be hard to work with unhappy and let him potentially cause disharmony off the field.

He's also one of the most talented and hardest working players in the world... under contract to your club. You don't just toss that. People are out here complaining that a Lacazette isn't good enough for Arsenal, and you want to just toss out Sanchez.
