It's about bringing in the right replacements, you might not be able to bring someone of same caliber in the same position but if you can bring in two people at slightly lower level then the team will have improved. We should only keep him if we have no replacement for him. If we have adequately replaced then it would be pointless to keep him just so he can play for City next year.

If Man City want Sanchez, I wouldn't be averse to an Aguero-Sanchez swap.

They must keep their Aguero. Did we ever say we want Aguero? They want Sanchez, so they must fight for him. Gazidis should go do an interview where he casually remarks "I wonder what they are smoking at the Etihad". Fuck City.

We're going to lose out one way or another, either through him going on a free or selling him for less than he's worth. I would say getting Aguero is the best of a bad situation, if Aguero is willing to come here for guaranteed game time.

Even if it ends up that way, you don't position yourself as such. An Aguero-Sanchez swap should literally be an end-of-summer, no other option decision if it comes to that. If we feel that he wants to go to City, and he will move for free next year, you test City's resolve by saying "Give us Aguero and Sané." Let them really think about their lives.

Right now, Sanchez is more valuable than Aguero - does more and is more durable. You don't just bend over because Guardiola says so. That's punk tendency

Reports that Monaco want about 113m with it basically to be paid up front.
If so then it would eliminate most if not all non PL competition for him as I doubt RM have that sort of cash sitting about.

Have also seen reports that the likes of Belotti & Lukaku as having 100m fees & RM want 70-80m for Morata. As such not only is Mbappe`s fee looking about par for top CF/STs, but it also makes the 57m for Lacazette & 61m for Aubameyang look like bargains.

Interesting that he is mainly used as LWF in a Sanchez type role,
whereas I'd have looked to play him as part of a front 2 or in a Dybala type role from CAM.

I think it's a typical development curve for young strikers, Anzac. Henry was used on the flank too very early in his career. It helps them develop dribbling skills while they can avoid getting roughed up by hardened defenders until they're fully grown. It's easy to forget that Mbappe turned 18 only 6 months ago.

Agreed - AW has even said that he uses the flanks to develop a player's movement on & off the ball without having 2 burly CBs and a congested midfield to worry about.
IIRC TH was signed as a ST but could not play there at Monaco because the had the likes of Hately & Eto'o / Trezerguet at the time, so AW played him on the flank as did Juve.
That said Mbappe primarily played as half of a 2 man forward line behind Falcao, just as Sanchez plays behind Vargas - hence why I questioned why they'd play him as a WF.
Not that it matters as it's only a bit of light distraction.

Jesus broke through way before Pep even contemplated leaving Bayern.
