Good signing

Perhaps another name AW can later add to his list of players he nearly / could have signed?

or not since he clearly didnt make any kind of approach for him
Good, he's garbage. Danny Welbeck of midfield.
Ousmane Dembele has gone AWOL. Not turned up for training and is not answering phone according to Dortmund manager, Peter Bosz.
Little shit has no doubt done exactly what he's been told to do by the crooks at Barcelona. And they had the audacity to complain about PSG!
He could legitimately struggle at Barcelona. Their fans are terrible and will give him hell if it doesn't go well and he still has tons to learn. Loads and loads. And he's not in Neymar's class, not by a very long shot.
He's super talented but also very raw especially when it comes to his end product. If he was to go to Barcelona for 120m to replace Neymar, as has been speculated, and with the weight of that pressure, things could get pretty ugly for him.
Funny watching Barca struggle to get a replacement in. Liverpool and Dortmund are playing hardball on Coutinho and Dembele respectively.
It could get really bad for him. Has temperament problems on the pitch as well. Loses his shit a lot. Bad move for him at this point, I'm very sure if it.
Talk of Iniesta leaving as well, he might be old but he's still in a completely dfferent class to a 10-a-penny show pony like Coutinho.
Dortmund don't mind selling him as long as Barcelona meet their valuation of 150m.
Quite a decent profit anyway
Bein Sport reporting that PSG are not signing Mbappe this summer. Seeing as they are owned by essentially the same entity you'd think they'd be pretty reliable!

Exactly, nobody should feel sorry for Barca when it comes to Neymar. They'd happily do a lot worse to sign a player so fuck them.
Paris United saying that Mbappe will be a PSG player by Aug 31st.
I'm convinced he'll go there too. He'd have an excellent shot at winning Champions League with Verratti and Neymar, he'd have league titles secured every season in advance, and he'll still only be 22-23 by the time his contract with them expires. Zero downside to that move. He already knows the French league too so his development won't stall while he tries to adapt to Spain or Premier League.
Yep makes a lot of sense
psg don't have any wide forwards i want. di maria would probably the main high profile casualty of mbappe and neymar coming in, and i don't really want him. the main player i'd take off them is rabiot, but he seems to be a nailed on starter
Who does Danny Rose think he is? Some of these English players have such an inflated sense of their own ability.
What's that prick said?
Qwiss, his approach is appalling, but it's not unexpected. Spurs players must be feeling cheated looking at the halfwits who play at Arsenal and United and earn 50-100% more than they do. The Spurs model will fall apart if they do not win a major trophy this season. Players need something to believe in - either trophies or money. We have lots of experience in this. Spurs are just a poor man's Arsenal
I am not saying buy ten players, Iβd love to see two or three β and not players you have to Google and say, βWhoβs that?β I mean well-known players.
I am reaching my peak and have probably only got one big contract left in me.
Time is running out and I do want to win trophies. I don't want to play football for 15 years and not have one trophy or one medal.
I will say this too, I will play up north. I don't know exactly when but I will get back up north and play some football somewhere. I have been away for over 10 years now and I don't get to see my mum that often.
I'm not saying I want out, but if something came to me that was concrete, I'd have no qualms about voicing my opinions to anyone at the club.
I donβt know how much longer I might have at this level. Iβm not going to be stupid enough not to try and get the most out of it β medals, trophies and salary.
Anyone who thinks this is primarily for money, that is not the case. But I know what I am worth.

I know that feel.
If I was a Spurs supporter I'd be disgusted reading that

A trophy would just further inflate their egos and increase what other clubs are willing to pay them. There is only one way from here for Spurs...
It doesn't help also that they're building a stadium when the increased TV money clubs now receive hugely reduces, even removes altogether, the competitive advantage that investment should have given them. Having 20,000 more seats sold every week isn't going to mean very much at all in the current football landscape.
They're more than a bit fucked.
Coutinho has now handed in a transfer request according to SSN.
Btw, how do you embed tweets?

Will be interesting to see if Liverpool buckle, Coutinho signed a 5 year deal in Jan so they're in a strong position. I wonder if they're thinking to themselves how all that Suarez money did the absolutely no good.
Official request makes it very hard to say no. I wonder have they got replacements in mind. He's nowhere near as good as Sanchez but he'll still be difficult to replace.
Club have officially denied it. Hope they stay strong - great to see Barca slime getting told their place. Once Messi starts tailing off, they will slither down the rungs into their rightful place.
Your hate for Barcelona is stronger than your wish for Arsenal to end up in front of their competitors on the league table?
I agree with him though, while it's no good for us I hope he stays, not for Liverpool's sake because as they've proven with van Dijk they're no better, but because this is the side of football that utterly stinks.
They can keep him if they want, they should, but I hope for our sake that they won't. Submitting transfer requests isn't what sucks about football, it's a part of the system and he lets go of his loyalty bonus. The part that sucks is players going on strike, not showing up to training or not giving their all if the club choose to keep them.

He's a jumped up little twat though. He's no better than our mediocrities he's just lucky a manager came along and plugged him into a system that works for him. He, far more than Walker even, will be a massive flop wherever else he goes.

It's now being reported that club is saying has confirmed he has put in a Transfer Request. When you put out official statements like this they can backfire, will they be able to hold onto him now?
I doubt Coutinho will be the difference between us finishing above or below Liverpool and even if he is, finishing within touching distance of the title. In any case, Liverpool, in classic Liverpool style have confirmed the transfer request within an hour of denying it. Guess player power does tell. Am also worried that the 90M that they are supposedly getting will go towards areas where they need reinforcements like Van Dijk or a good GK.

Yep its the players who force through a move and never put in a request that are the problem.
Mahrez has a request in too BTW. Hopefully we sign him.
Don't think money is an issue though, in fact I think they are struggling to spend their money. Clubs are refusing to sell and I can't see how selling Coutinho is gonna help convince other clubs to finally accept their bids.
I really hope Coutinho leaves, think he's developing into a top class difference maker.

Wenger has said we have never been close to Mahrez this summer and we have similar players in Iwobi, Ozil, Wilshere

Never mind that, Liverpool are using the exact same tactics to unsettled Van Djik at Southampton. I'm glad to see them dicked on as well.
--Henderson--Can--
------Coutinho-----
--Salah------Mane--
-------Firmino-------
Lot of goals in that team, and their CM provides a serious goal scoring threat/contribution. Not sure the team would fall apart if Coutinho left as he still floats in and out of games, but I'd agree they would struggle to find someone to fill in quickly and provide the match winning contribution that Coutinho has in him.
Coutinho scored more from midfield than Firmimo scored at CF last season. Coutinho and Mane we're joint top scorers for Liverpool with 13 a piece. I don't think they've as many goals in them if Coutinho goes.
Plus they've had a pretty poor window just when things were looking up for them - particularly if they don't get van Djik.
I'd rather Liverpool keep Coutinho instead of getting Β£120-150m for him. That's an insane amount of money even in this market and they'll be a stronger team for it if they reinvest those funds in van Dijk, a MF and Insigne (who annoyingly they've been linked with now). Coutinho is far from a special player. He is very good but not irreplaceable. Even Lallana at 10 with a top class B2B and CB signing makes them a stronger outfit.
