I was stunned watching Messi in the ties with PSG and Juventus last season. He was genuinely terrible in all 4 games.  I didn't watch him in La Liga but he definitely looks like he's lost at least a step to me.

This is said every time Barcelona go through a poor spell and he's come back every time without fail. Shortly after his "poor" CL campaign ended he came back to the Bernabeu and looked legitimately at least two levels above everyone else on the pitch and that's after he had a tooth knocked out by Marcelo

Barring injury he'll easily be the best player in the world next season again. Just like he was in the last eight seasons

Messi is still in a class all of his own. Ronaldo scores at a similar rate, but in every other meaningful aspect of being a footballer, Messi shits all over him from a great height.
Watching the friendly between the Spanish giants the other day, and it was anything but friendly, I'd say Messi looks a dead cert of being the best player in the world this upcoming season, again.

spooky deal

reckon dybala or dembele will replace him

Monumental downgrade though. And that's putting it mildly.

If they get Mbappé then it'd still be a big short term downgrade but long term actually not too bad.

I think we might see a barren few years for Barcelona...

I think barca will take ozil in the next year.

I can't see that happening myself but they will be a bit desperate to save face after  this Neymar fiasco.

Messi has, according to reports, come back like a steam train in pre-season. Faster sprint times etc. than he has recorded ever. I don't believe that part at all personally - he's nowhere near as quick as he was 3 years ago. No chance, no way. But, I do reckon he's going to be fired up this season in a way he hasn't been for years now. He'll be hurt by Ronaldo's success for sure.

It's ironic that it's a world cup year too because he'll probably put so much into the club  season he'll struggle in Russia and get slated again.

so Messi has already said goodbye to Neymar... 'kinell

They'll just pump Messi full again and he'll be ready to rumble. No issues.

La Liga now blocking the Neymar transfer

Yeah, the sour grapes is hilarious. The reasoning is farcical too, surely you could come up with a better excuse. It'll go through eventually once the lawyers get involved.

Rather than spending 50m on Lemar, we should just buy Di Maria or Draxler off PSG, as they will be needing to meet FFP rules.

I don't understand why Di Maria features on so many people's lists. There are tones of players I'd go for before him.

I can actually imagine this being true.

Probably fair enough too.

Don't know, sounds like bullshit to me. Everyone was celebrating Neymar's performance because he was easily the best player that night, can't imagine anyone at Barcelona thinking differently. All this because of one picture seems awfully construed

I reckon I could give you 500 thousand better reasons per week...

Iniesta was the best player on the night anyway.

we had our chance with Draxler..   he was transfer fodder for at least 2 seasons and we didnt show any interest.

La Liga trying to refuse payment for Neymar.. LMAO.. Stupid assholes... They have no legal standing to do that. stop trying to stall the transfer
