noel gallagher's album is 4 good tracks, and a bunch of crap. stop the clocks, what a life, if i had a gun, and record machine are great, and about as good as what he was writing in the definitely maybe/masterplan/morning glory years. some really trite lyrics at times, though. looking forward to his next album, which is gonna be more like what a life and his stuff with the chemical brothers.

i wouldnt see the stone roses. ian brown's voice is even worse than liam gallagher's is now. better to remember how they were. maybe if the band could find a new singer...

st vincent's album is great, btw. it's chick music, but it's good.

So, the Arctic Monkeys, despite the mediocre 4th album, my word, they're still a pretty ferocious live band. Brilliant show at the O2 last Saturday.

I quite liked her version of You Got The Love, particularly that version she did with Dizzee. But then she seemed to be popping up on every stage at Glasto last year and belting it out. It got very tiresome very quickly.

The only time I saw Florence and Dizzy doing that version was on the Brits and I absolutely loved it.

Just seen her on Later with Jools Holland, she's pretty much out on her own in terms of style of music at the moment.
Something kind of heroic about her voice.

Quite a few people that I know just cannot tolerate her, I can see why to some extent, but I think she's great though not groundbreakingly interestingly so.
She's no Polly Jean.

Noel Gallagher has just announced he's coming to the Big Day Out in Auckland (the one big music festival NZ has), and Australia for you Aussies. Have never been to it before as I prefer a regular concert and this has never been my kind of thing, and also there's never really been an act come for this that I've been desparate to see. But I really want to see Noel so think I'm going to have to make the trip, although may just hold off rushing for a ticket in case he might announce his own side show in the next week or so now he's booked in. Oasis only came to NZ once - 1998 when I was a bit too young but I was fortunate enough to go to what ended up being their last Wembley Stadium show in 2009 when I was over there. Any of you Aussies ever been to the BDO before?
