I did. I've listened to it all at one time or another, Electronic, his stuff with The The, Chrissie Hynde and so on. Legend. Not everything he does is amazing but he's an incredible guitarist, arranger and songwriter.

Can't argue with anything there. I consider him to be the second greatest British guitar player of all time behind Clapton. As a songwriter he is better than Clapton.

I love watching his interviews as well, especially the one during the making of Strangeways, you'd do well to find more well spoken and self-aware 25-year old rockstar. Always came across as such a decent guy.

He sounded ok but I guess he looked like Moz when he started but has aged a bit differently. His Moz dancing was comical, way too stiff. You think? I love Morrissey but he strikes me as one of the biggest arseholes around.

Morrissey's dancing was comical and stiff at the best of times. I understand it's part of the charm of a Smiths live gig but I prefer his shaking hands and kissing babies style of performing of his later years.

Morrissey's an edgelord who shouldn't have a pulpit, apart from that he's no worse than your average instance down the pub.

You're talking about Sticky Fingaz from the Onyx? Great parenting if you're taking your daughter to one of their concerts

Nah Jones. Sticky Fingers are an Aussie indi band that all the kids are into over here. They play kind of reggae fusion. I've grown to kind of like them cos my daughter plays them all the time. I'm actually really looking forward to taking her to the gig....hopefully I don't embarrass her too much!

Hooky was fucking immense. Voice overpowered at times during the Joy Division set, but still sounded more suited to those songs then Barney ever has. And to be able to hear them AND the New Order Substance tracks made last night a very special one indeed. Too many highlights to mention but I genuinely lost my shit during True Faith.

Highly recommended.

Which do you prefer, Unknown Pleasures or Closer?

I'm a Closer boy, tracks 3 through 9 are unbeatable for me. Particularly the Means To An End, Heart And Soul and Twenty Four Hours hat-trick. That's as good as music gets in my opinion.

That said, Unknown Pleasures is like nothing else I've ever heard and Shadowplay and She's Lost Control are magnificent.

They're both phenomenonal albums. What's your preference? Jo prefers Unknown Pleasures.

I agree, it's Closer for me too. It's one of maybe a dozen albums where if I pick it up I have to listen to the whole thing for the full experience. Such a fleshed out album.

I'd agree with that. Born In The USA is one of my favourite albums of all time and Nebraska is ace too.

On Joy Division, I had a stage about ten years ago of listening to both studio albums back to back and on repeat all night; just couldn't leave them alone.
