I was just sitting here thinking about Saturday night and how hugely emotional it was to hear songs that have been part of my life for the last 22 years- and some of these were songs I never even dreamed I'd get to hear live- Everything's Gone Green (particularly that one), She's Lost Control, True Faith... Funny thing is, I sort of lost it before Hooky even arrived on stage. Arthur Baker was DJing and dropped Touched By The Hand Of God.
I sat there, silently... not, crying, but weeping. I don't know why. The memory of hearing that track as a 17 year old, the fact that the first time I heard it I had my whole life ahead of me, that I'm not now where I thought I'd be, but I'm still happy, still loving and loved.
This probably reads horribly to you all, but it is exactly how I felt on Saturday night. It was a great night.
