There has never been a return to form. My mates are massive U2 fans so I had to listen to ATYCLB far too much. It's just dull music.

You know Rex the British & Irish have a condition (which has been inherited by Australians) called the Tall poppy syndrome whereby because of the closenittedness of communities famous people are very well known in the localities they emerged from, and therefore anyone is resented who appears to want rise above everyone else.
The Irish also love criticising and fighting each other too if you didn't notice.

That's a load of bullshit though. It's the kind of Hong Cameron or Trump believe. The "they just don't like me cos they're jealous" mentality. If anything the Irish over-celebrate our successful people.

People don't like Bono because he's annoying and doesn't pay enough taxes.

I can respect the view, and I share it myself, that people are annoyed when super rich people don't pay their taxes. In Bono's case there is certainly more than a little bit of hypocrisy involved. For me, it doesn't change that I think Bono is extremely talented and a great entertainer. At least he used to be. He has charisma, and I really, really like his voice.
Speaking of U2 albums, Achtung baby is another favorite of mine. 🙂
Hmm. For some reason I thought it was called Mysterious Ways. Didn't feel right when I typed it so had to look it up.

U2 is an awful band. No balls.

The definitive pop song of the 2000's for my money. Never get tired of this one.

Yep, she was a great talent but like all great talents she had her demons and they got the better of her.

No- Not really, the whole anglophone world is homogenised, go to any international airport to see what I mean.

Never heard of the Native Tongues movement, A Tribe Called Quest, Pharcyde, Brand Nubian etc? It's basically a whole subgenre of hip hop, there are hundreds of albums with that sound.

Love the Bob James sample but I like the track even more for the lyrics.

Jones, have you listened to the album "Surf" by Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment. Fronted by Chance The Rapper. Jazzy, funky album. Great lyrics. Best rap album released this year lots of cameos from Busta, Erykah, Janelle. Excellent stuff
