The legislative elections will determine the course of the next five years just as much as the election of Macron.
It's estimated that up to 43% of those who voted for him did so not because they have signed up to his programme but because they were anti Le Pen.
Given the low turn out, the 4 million vote blanc and the 11 million who voted Le Pen, Macron is far from having a convincing mandate and this may very well be reflected in the election in June.

For starters En Marche has had to co opt candidates from MoDem in order to ensure that they field candidates in all 577 constituencies.

He has some job ahead of him.

Wonder if he really will appoint La Garde as PM

Possibly, but more of the same won't lead to any other outcome. Even if Le Pen has been defeated, all it'll take is for someone to come in, take her rhetoric and put in a more acceptable spin on it and it'll end up being mainstream.

Not sure about that, their rhetoric being unacceptable is what's seemingly making these far right parties popular among their base, abandoning that will lose them more votes than they'd gain in my opinion.

Not even UKIP. I was watching Theresa May on the news today talking about immigration and apart from the strength of the language whats the real difference between the Tory position on immigration and any of these more controversial anti-immigrant parties?

UKIP is definitely a few levels worse but the Tories have been awful on immigration for a while now, lets not forget about the list that Rudd proposed, though it's not really a surprise. I don't think Labour's policy of skimming over the issue is much better.

That's essentially my point though, these fringepolitical parties have to be outrageous to stand out from the mainstream, otherwise there's not much point to them.

The Tories were the worst of both worlds, they promised 'stronger' controls on migrations but actually never managed to bring numbers down while at the same time targeting vulnerable groups and generally fanning the flames of resentment.

Oh yeah Labour are just awful. The UK needs a serious shake up of its political parties. The Tories are just winning by default at the moment.

Dans leur communiqué, les sociétés de journalistes rappelaient qu'il n'appartient «en aucun cas à l'Elysée de choisir ceux d'entre nous qui ont le droit ou non de couvrir un déplacement, quel qu'en soit le thème». Elles dénonçaient l'organisation de la communication du chef de l'Etat.

En réponse à ce rappel à l'ordre, l'Elysée assure : «Il va de soi que nous avons ouvert l’option aux rédactions mais jamais imposé un journaliste plutôt qu’un autre (...). Les journalistes qui se sont inquiétés peuvent se rassurer : l’Elysée n’entend pas faire le travail des rédactions».

Dans le cas du voyage officiel au Mali ce vendredi, l'Elysée reconnaît une erreur d'explication. «Dans l'organisation du voyage officiel, cette préoccupation (d'ouverture) a pu n'être pas assez expliquée, d'où les interprétations et inquiétudes qui sont nées ces derniers jours».
