With Goon on this, Lukaku does literally fuck all if he doesn't score so the comparison with Alexis is way off. Can't stand the little selfish prick, Kane/Sturridge levels of vanity and egotism on the pitch, talks way too much about himself off it too. For 60m I'd much rather Icardi who's shown that he can grow as a footballer too, while I'm confident in saying Lukaku will never amount to much more than he is right now

That surprises me Jones as your previous posts had lead me to believe that you rated Lukaku highly.

You're right Daz I'm a bit volatile like that. One day I wake up feeling he's a complete donkey and the next he doesn't even look like a footballer to me.

What about you mate, really can't assess your opinion of him at all. Sometimes you think he's one of the best strikers in Europe and sometimes you gloatingly dig up my old posts when he scores goals, not sure what your standpoint is here

I can't quite make up my mind, but he's definitely somewhere between original Ronaldo and Emile Heskey!

I'd take Icardi either. A couple more question marks around him but I think he'd be a success here too.

First questions to answer are 1) is Alexis staying 2) will we use him wide or central. Then you can start to shape your transfer plans for the attacking positions.

We probably only have the capacity to go big on one player. So do we blow our beans on someone like Mbappe or Lukaku?

I recon Wengs will go for Reus because of his ability to play across the front line. Would far rather he go for a specialist that fits our needs though

Can see him and his wife seriously wrecking our dressing room but yeah he'd tear shit up. Made a huge step towards being a more complete player and even his goalscoring improved this season, 20 goals and 9 assists in 26 games under like four managers this season.

What if we played a genuine DM alongside Xhaka?
There is talk that Krychowiak isn't happy at PSG & we were strongly linked efore he went to PSG.

I don't like Krychowiak. I think he's a fraudulent player. He's nowhere near good enough to compete with what PSG have, which they found out the hard way. If we sign someone to fix the midfield it can't be a Flamini copy with a wooden leg who's been warming the bench for a year.

Don't like Krychowiak either. We really need to add technique to our midfield if we want to play the kind of football we attempt. Monreal and Bellerin have better touches than anyone we have in midfield bar Cazorla who is really not in the reckoning for next year. There is a reason we look like a football team with him in there despite his many flaws as a two way central midfielder.

What we need more than anything in midfield is tactical awareness.

Another goal and assist for Lukaku today. Leagues top scorer. Add resilient to his upsides.

Make that 2 goals.

I bet he did absolutely nothing in between those goals.

And he only had 19 goals yesterday.

Wankers.

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. Plus it makes people want to punch you in the face.

I heard he had zero when the season began

Depends on what football we want to play next season.
I'm just thinking of someone who is better than the likes of Coquelin as our most defensive midfielder to anchor the midfield and provide cover to the CBs and play as a quasi DB if the FBs both go forward.
I don't think we need any more technique in midfield unless it's in regards to tackling.
If we want a Kante type to replace Coquelin we're linked to Gueye, Keita & I'd be surprised in Bakayoko's name doesn't come up at some point.
I see we're also linked to Tielemens but I think he's amore a replacement for Rambo in midfield.
I see AW has said that Xhaka is more a replacement for Cazorla as anything and his roe is more about distribution of the ball between the lines rather than being the defensive presence in midfield.

Everton are going to be well fucked off when they realise that Lukaku isn't even a footballer.
