His comments about his priority being game time gave me some encouragement. Put in an acceptable bid to Monaco and let's see what happens. He's 18, we could probably sell him in 8 years for more.

Shame really how rich shit English teams buy the best players off the teams they were trashed by in the CL. Costa Luis Silva etc

We need to be one of them teams too though. Throw everything we have on them for Jardim and Mbappé and see what happens

Why? It's not like we can't afford it. I'd be disappointed if it's the price tag that puts us off rather than the player himself turning us down. I don't buy these stories anyway.

Perisic is an interesting signing. Only ever really seen him for Croatia and I like him, but he's definitely not close to the top echelon of players and I'm hoping that's a sign that United are still struggling to shop at the best shops.

Maybe I'm deluded but I genuinely think the club and especially Wenger would pay a massive fee to get Mbappé.

I don't believe these stories for a second either. I think Mbappé will go for something around £80m and it'll be a heavily incentivised deal at that. And I can't see City going for him either. Gabriel Jesus is the guy Pep's going to hang his hat on next season I reckon.

Seems a good fit at United though. Big, strong and athletic but has more about him than the likes of Fellaini.

I'm sure Real will do what it takes to secure Mbappé. Ronaldo is an old man with constantly dwindling minutes, and Morata is out. He makes sense as the next galactico.
I really hope Madrid take him. I would be bitter if Guardiola got him.

Morata/Auba would have been the perfect fit (Mbappe was always a pipe dream). What about some of the younger ones - Bellotti/Werner/Icardi? You think they would disrupt our game?

I've seen Icardi, and I like. Can't comment on Bellotti/Werner. I would still favour going after Dybala in the off-chance that he could be charmed with millions. He's an amazing striker who would sync well with Alexis and Ozil.

The dream is for Allegri to come along with Dybala, or Jardim along with Mbappe.

Werner is a very good shout too.

A ballbusting transfer for us needs to be either Mbappe, Dubala, or Ousmane Dembele

All looking very unlikely, the two French kids probably have their sights on the big Spanish clubs while Dybala is already at a club of the same stature.

I'd bid big on Insigne, force Napoli's hand with some 70m or so. Get Sarri too, he has them playing some of the best football in Europe

I agree that we need to think differently, Jones. It's a pity Wenger's house call yielded nothing on Mbappé. Credit to him for trying. But now your Insignes are the profile we should be chasing. Only reason I mention Dybala is I know Juve don't pay him, and if he's keen on money we can pay 3-5m pounds a year more than Juve would normally offer.

He's signed an extension this season, he's probably on good money by now.

Insigne isn't any less talented by the way, just plays at a lower profile club. Won't be easy getting him either though, he's Napoli bred and their poster boy alongside Hamsik

Yeah, Insigne is as good as footballing talent gets. I think luring him away from Napoli is as unrealistic as convincing Totti to leave Roma was, unfortunately.

Nothing is easy, Sir. United took a childhood fan from us when they grabbed Judas van Persie. We must try our best. One smart thing would be to put an outrageous offer in for someone like James, and help Real on their way towards Mbappé. I really do not want Guardiola getting him. If Aubama is not on people's radar, let's woo him.
It's going to be a hard summer. Guardiola, Klopp, Mourinho and Conte will all have cash to splash. If we snooze for one day, we are done. I hope Wenger says as much to Gazidis and Kroenke on Tuesday
