Reminds me of that "we'll only sign top top quality" BS. Yeah ok so where are they then?

You forgot the quote that follows at the end of the transfer window - 'we were looking but there was no one available for the right price',
then followed after the Jan window by 'I nearly signed XXXX'.

Ain't that the truth.

What's more is that Douglas Costa appears to be heading to Spurs or United. Sigh

If Wenger stays the only possible way for him to regain fans backing in the near term is to make really good proactive moves in the transfer window

And kill your boys Ramsey and Xhaka? Have a heart Dules

AW's waiting for Koman/Dembele/Mbappe/Pulisic to come available as a bargain opportunity.

Aubameyang has apparently told BVB he wants out and BVB may accept 40m - a bargain opportunity for AW?

I'm going to seem persnickety here, but I don't rate Aubameyang either.

Flob Dogg, how are you not going to rate Aubameyang when your options are Giroud, Welbeck, Walcott and possibly even Sanogoals?
If he really is free for under 50m, I imagine Chelsea and Liverpool will have a tug of war while we tug at something else.

id take auba for 40m. not perfect, but imo he'd be a great foil for sanchez and ozil if they stick around

We'll end up with Alcacer and some lique une defender we've not heard of

If there's any chance Auba might want a change of scenery and none of the big boys are in for him ... we must throw everything we got his way. Alexis-Özil-Auba is a world class front 3.

Pep Guardiola closes in on Benfica's Ederson for world record transfer fee for a GK

That's how you do it. Move in, get what you want and be done with it.
And then there is us...we don't even know if our manager has signed or not a new deal 😆 😆

Yea, fuck pep and his rich club and player shopping. Agree on your point but not your example.

Seems like they're trying to sign Monaco's left back too, Benjamin Mendy. Obviously they're in an entirely different situation than us financially, but I'd be nice if we actually looked at players in the positions where we need them.

we get to pick off the strays once the apex predators have done their thing. if we make any big signings it will be later in the window. dicky boy is having enough trouble trying to chase down ozil and sanchez at the moment

TBH I'll be very disappointed if Monaco are picked apart again like Saints have been,
and even more so if we don't try to get on board after the cluster fuck by AW re Martial last summer.

AW looks to pick up the discards as the A-List clubs look to make room for their upgrades.
Alternatively he looks to these left standing at the alter for one reason or another.

Imagine what Mbappe would do in our current formation in place of Welbeck...

If we had balls, we'd put everything into Mbappé, and then pick up a few typical Wengerish creatures with the change. Come on, Stan.

Would be a beautiful thing to watch. Sanchez and Ozil would run riot with him terrifying defenders ahead of them. I'm not a massive Aubameyang fan, but he would be quite something in this team too.

I am really hoping the club are going to throw the kitchen sink and young Mbappé. He's the striker I've been waiting to emerge since Thierry left us. It's not even that they're completely the same as players - there are clearly strong similarities - it's that mixture of intelligence, insane technique, insane speed, a proper nose for goalscoring and a composure in front goal that is rare to see.

He's what we've needed for 10 years. Would be a travesty to see him gobbled up by Real Madrid.

Don't know how Wenger could go to his bloody house and not get it done back then.

We can't be missing out on talent like this when we've basically been given the head's up a season before he breaks out. Oh well.
