So Barcelona broke the record yesterday after winning the 16th consecutive game. Used to love watching the Spanish league, but it's just pathetic at the moment.

Barcelona have dropped 4 points all season. Honestly think United would drop more points in League 1.

That's ignoring Real, who have only dropped 12 points themselves (compare that to United, who have dropped 21).

Barcelona and Real are two World Class teams(assembled with the help of massive financial doping), but the Spanish league is a joke.

They lost every chance at ever mending what's broken as soon as they introduced the individual tv deals. It's a pathetic league.

Don't bother watching liga games anymore.

Isn't messi on something like 40 goals for the season?
ridiculous.
Gonna end up like the SPL?
I just don't understand why all the other teams bend over and let the big 2 have their way with tv revenue...
Only Sevilla and Villa Real had the temerity to complain and it got them nowhere?

Exactly. I've got absolutely no time for it now whatsoever. Barcelona and Real Madrid should be ashamed of themselves.

Pound for pound is the german league the best?

Yeah but is the german league best value for money?

It's cheap (tickets are a lot cheaper on average compared to England)

the atmosphere is terrific (all standing stadiums and the highest attendances)

the football is attacking (they score a lot of goals don't they?)

the quality is good (their teams do well in the champions league)

and the competition is good (5 different winners in the past ten years)

Serie A is the best value for money in my opinion. For the simple fact that a player like Di Natale can score 29 goals and chip in with 15 or so assists in a season and still play for a club like Udinese. The technical standard is higher than in Germany too. Even the teams at the bottom of the table are keeping a reasonable level. It's taken them some time to get back after the calciopoli but it's benefited the league as a whole. Sadly it also benefited Inter a little bit too much.

The Premiership is the best league and best pound for pound.

They've killed la liga. Its hard to see anybody outside the big 2 winning the league in the near future which is just sad. The 6th best team in the EPL has got a more realistic chance of winning a title in the coming years than the 3rd best team in Spain.

To be fair, the championship isn't competitive but there is great football outside of the top two.

Spain sucks.
La Liga sucks.
Fuck Barcelona.
Don't want to play like them don't want to be like them.

We're not trying to do either.

German league is best value pound for pound. Tickets are cheap, and about 8 teams are in with a shot of winning the league at the start of every season. No other league can boast that.

I'd put England 2nd, especially after this wonderful season. The fact that I can now watch pretty much any of the televized games and be entertained by a game with a meaningful result means that the league is better. Before when the only games that mattered were those amongst Liverpool-Arsenal-United-Chelsea, it wasn't that good.

Serie A is coming back slowly, but really needs more fans and better atmosphere in stadiums.

La Liga. Stopped watching it. Waste of everyone's time.

Currently Lille are topping the Ligue 1 table. The last three years Lyon, Bordeaux and Marseille have won it.

Nobody bothered by the actual quality of football then?

What do you mean by quality, Capi? That they have the world's 3 best players (Messi, Xavi, Ronaldo) in one league? That's fine, but it would be so much better if those guys were on 3 different teams, and if some of the other stars at Barca and Real were distributed as well. The quality in those 2 teams means that the games they play against other teams are meaningless. You'd hope that the Classico makes it worthwhile to sit through those weekly routs, but too often of late, Barca just runs through Real Madrid as well in those games.

Nah, I didn't say anything about Spain.

I don't think having different winners every season or cheap tickets has any place in a discussion about which league is the best.
