But the Republican strategist Steve Schmidt tweeted: “This speech atCPAC is demagogic, vapid, intellectually dishonest and just plain old fashioned idiotic. If someone delivered this speech from the end of a bar most people would think that person was an imbecile.”

After the initial phone conversation they had back when Trump was freshly inaugurated, I thought Turnbull might actually show more bravery during the press conference when asked about gun violence reduction in Australia.

There's nothing strong about Turnbull. I fucking detested John Howard but the dude had the gumption to tighten gun restrictions following Port Arthur, despite knowing it would be unpopular with a significant proportion of his support base.

Howard always had the nous to do things that appealed to shitty mainstream Australia. Like that time he managed to get himself a chairlift from the Olympic squad.

Turnbull is basically just "Vice President of Legal" for whatever organisation he happens to be a part of. A boardroom suit.
