I’m not convinced by the any woman argument, Bold. Her public record could play a role, but I think it would be a small role, and there are probably other factors that need to be addressed, including sexism. For a start, it’s 2017. Name all the women who have run for President. Why is there such a surfeit in a nation that we are all led to believe is so progressive. The system is stacked against women. Hillary walked into that race with a significant deficit just because she was a woman and her opponent was a man. That electorate, in general, feels safer in the hands of a man.
Then there are other issues to consider as well, such as the fear politics that Trump played so well and that awoke racists; America’s fascination with celebrity; Comey and those stupid emails as you’ve mentioned (which is one of the most irresponsible things the vacuous American mass media has done); etc.
But if I stuck some balls and a mustache on Hillary, you’d say she is more qualified than the previous 3 presidents, just not as charming. She’d feel a stable choice for the next 4 years.
