Think of Gaddafi what you want - he was what you'd call a dictator but he virtually singlehandedly turned Libya from one of the poorest countries in Africa to the by far most developed country. I've long lost interest in the US and its political idiosyncrasies and I genuinely don't care whether the main reason for Trump's victory was the disenfranchisement of the working class, misogyny against Clinton or plain old racism, all of these are true anyway and the real issue to me is that it had to boil down to those two candidates in the end. If that's the best a country of 300m+ could come up with then the reasons why the average American voted for Trump and not her aren't really all that interesting.
Cynically speaking the rest of the world is probably better off with the US government being mostly busy infighting and trying to get each other fired. All those democratic perks wouldn't matter though were Clinton elected as her foreign policies would've had the whole establishment and media, liberal or hawkish, behind her.
