The ugliness of Trump's election can turn into a good thing, despite the shock and short term set back. The dirt has risen to the surface and decent people are finally coming out and speaking up and taking a stance in the political realm. Women especially. It gladdens my heart.

Again, I would be extremely surprised if that utter shambles of a President completes his term.

I think I would have lost faith in the fundamental decency of the majority of people if Moore had won, it was a real relief to hear the news this morning.

I am so grateful to African Americans, especially women, for their power and commitment to justice. They won this election but the slim margin scares me. There are so many people in Alabama who voted for Roy Moore and all he represents. That fact dampens my joy in the Jones victory. Still, he won. I’m relieved and happy that the majority voted for dignity, truth, and respect. May these qualities bloom through this great country and soften the hearts of those who hate. Love is always the answer.
