Yep agree. Apart from the one where Cech saved from Mata, we weren't troubled the entire time. The goal was just unfortunate and great 3rd man running from that diver.

Our midfielders were more interested in closing spaces and being solid defensively than anything. They couldn't build up anything but our front 4 being really off colour didn't help.

Bellerin doesn't get taken out off when we are chasing a game because he's amazing going forward. However it's not unusual for teams to make ultra attacking subs when chasing a game in the last minutes. Can't believe you are using that to criticise Jenkinson.

Look, he'll probably never make it here even as a back up player but I find it ridiculous he's getting criticised for that performance in what is his 2nd 1st team outing after being out for so long especially given how poor most of our players were (I'm looking at you Mesut).

Let's be honest, if Wenger had been proactive and timed his subs properly we would've been talking about a different game. It was match management at its worst especially considering the options we had on the bench. In the end the shape went out of the window and we just threw attackers on to try and salvage something from the game. This is why we struggled to retain basic possession after equalising. Wenger clearly went there to play for a point and failed to notice or react when the tide started to change in United's favour. A point at Old Trafford would normally be a positive result but we cannot escape from the fact that this was an abysmal performance.

Jenkinson adds nothing going forward, absolutely nothing, but honestly, he was good defensively, especially aerially, in my opinion.

Let's not forget Jenkinson has a good cross in him and has shown in many instances that he is decent overlapping. He was the least of our problems today.

And I am pretty sure I recall Bellerin getting subbed out for an attacker when we were desperate.

Jenkinson did get beaten a few times and rightly got taken off because he was out of gas. You can sugar coat it and wrap it up all you want but we as a club rarely sub our fullbacks and ask a wide player to play as a wing back. I've mentioned it already that Darmian picking up the early yellow meant he had to be conservative which prevented us from getting overly exposed on the right.

Saying he is backup and rarely makes 1st team outings is completely irrelevant. He was poor just as he was against Ludogrets and is rightly getting criticised. There was another mind boggling attempt to clear the ball inside our half where he simply lobbed the ball in the air. History has shown us that whenever the gap between our first and second choice become too big like it currently is at right back we pay a heavy price. I'm not taking the apologist stance and excuse a player because some of you insist on lowering the bar for him. It's similar to the stance some Arsenal fans took on Flamini last season. Meanwhile these players are paid a lot of money to do a job and they are barely meeting the bare minimum.

Look, we all know he is a mediocre footballer. He will probably not make it here, and he shouldn't in a big team like us. That doesn't mean he didn't put in a decent shift today. Let's put things into perspective shall we?

It's all well and good saying he got skinned but at least mention instances when that was the case. We bothj watched the match and had my eyes on him but he never got beat 1 v 1 imo.

Not sure why we are discussing this as I never claimed Jenks was good going forward. But I still maintain he did well without the ball and no way was he a walking disaster as you were saying before the match.

Bringing on an attacker for the right back when chasing the game is a Wenger move that he's used for years. Its ridiculous to use that sub as proof of anything.

Bit harsh to criticise Jenks for not giving us anything going forward when neither did Ozil, Ramsey, Theo, Elneny, Monreal and Coq.

Bringing on like for like replacement is one thing. We took off Jenkinson and brought on Ox of all people to play as wing back for crying out loud. I would've thought the difference is blindly obvious.

I remember Kolo Toure getting subbed at right back after getting run rugged by Ronaldo.

I found today's game really depressing.

I hadn't been able to watch us play live for quite a while so was really looking forward to this, but yee God we were dire. Worst of all there were issues there which won't go away without bringing in new blood.
