Alves would be brilliant for us. I am talking about the Pool Lucas anyway. Been great for them this season.

Sandro and Lucas is better than Denilson anyway, thats my point. Theres so many superstars in Brazil but we never ever signed any before, closest being Gilberto?

Alves would get eaten alive in the Premier League. He's a truly awful defender. Lucas and Sandro are hardly anyone to worry about either, average players who are 10 a penny everywhere, not just South America.

I do know what you mean though, but Wenger has tried. He tried hard to get Ronaldinho, and had all but signed him. He tried hard to get Robinho and got as far as advanced negotiations. And when we signed Cesc from Barcelona we were actually there watching Messi, with a view to signing him.

There are a few who have left South America without mention of us trying to sign them, but they've usually gone straight to one of the super clubs in Europe - Milan, Real or Barca -and were therefore out of our reach.

I wonder if Wenger will go for Neymar? Not for a second saying he'd had a hope in hell of getting him, but I wonder if he'll try?

It's taken Lucas what, two years of solid appearances to get to his level now. I don't think he swooped under anyone's radar.

There are obvious attackers out there who need homees. I am pretty confident that Milan will not keep all of Cassano, Ibrahimovic and Robinho. All nutters, but all very talented.

Higuain. I feel Mourinho never warmed up to him. A manly No. 9 that would allow us to send Bendnter far, far away.

Robinho and Cassano, no chance, no thanks. Zlatan has found the club for him, he won't be going anywhere I suspect. Mourinho would be mad to sell Higuain.

Cali, Higuain is a regular for Real. He'd be an amazing signing but they won't sell him under any circumstances, I suspect. The only reason Benzema is getting games at the moment is because Higuain is injured. He'll be back in the starting eleven as soon as he's ready to play regularly again.

Forlan could be available. Would be a short term option mind

I like your suggestion of Forlan, Deeps. His age is a concern though. If either Bendtner or Chamakh had been a bit more thrustworthy at the moment it would be a very tempting solution.

Atl Madrid asked for a huge fee when Sp*rs were interested in Forlan both in the summer and in january.

Not exactly wish list material, but I can see us going back to Chelsea for kalou.

Chelsea flog us Kalou, and then bring in Lukaku or Neymar. Surely not.

Bleugh, stick that on the anti-wish list.

Kalou is not a bad player by any means though. He's just been stuck at that club for too long. You have to question any decision to bring him in as squad depth ahead of some of our own products at this point in time, though. I'd rather take my chances with JET, Vela and Lansbury, perhaps even Miyaichi, in the fringe roles next season.

Again, I'd refer to my desire that all our transfer money is spent on one or two amazing players, except in positions where we really need to bring someone in. Otherwise, it's a waste of cash.

We are fortunate we have a lot of good youngsters who could come in and be useful squad players otherwise we'd need stupidly heavy investment

I'd like us to sign atleast one star this summer mind

edit: changed my mind - we need heavy investment

Chelsea are clearly going to go the creative accounting route when it comes to the FFP introduction...

i dont think we should buy kalou, but right now, he is miles ahead of JET, miyaichi and vela.

the miyaichi hype is getting out of hand, too. exciting prospect, yes. ready for first team? not even close.

No, definitely not. We're talking about 5th, 6th and 7th choice here though, well down the pecking order. It makes sense to give the spare game to developing players. I don't think Kalou is better than any of Walcott, Arshavin or Nasri and he's only a marginal improvement on Bendtner. I'd either buy someone who's seriously competing for a starting spot or make do with what we have.

Benzema scores again with a good finish. He's in some form.

Looking at yesterday, you've got to wonder if we've all been getting it wrong. Nearly everyone wants a new, star attacking player but our defence is absolutely shit. I'm thinking that at least one new centre back is needed especially as we dont know how TV will get on after such a long injury.
