The main thing that first video highlighted is that the goalkeeping and defending in Brazil is still absolutely turd.

Anyway, let the Neymar love-fest continue. He's a quality youngster.

colo colo are Chilean, but 'true, true'.

We'll never get Neymar, reputation is too hyped up already, and chances are he'll want to go to Spain.

They will get him, if not it will be Real. Wenger hardly ever buys top reputation Brazilians, closest being Robinho. He would command 20+ million anyway, even though I think he would have been very worthed it.

No worries though plenty of good wide players for us to buy still. Kagawa, Marin, Sanchez, Hazard, Gotze etc etc off the top of my head.

On Neymar - he scored 36 goals in his debut season as a 17 year old. He will be a prolific scorer in whichever League he ends up.

When I talk about our front 3 in the other thread, Neymar is the sort of player I wish we had. Just an extraordinary talent - insane speed, insane close control, and ridiculous composure in front of goal. Nasri and Walcott are very good, and will go on to become even better, but if you want to be the very best, and match teams like Barcelona in the long run, you need a player like Neymar. Even Eden Hazard, who I love and am 100% sure will go on to become one of the very best players in the world, just isn't in the same class. I mean check out this stuff from last years U20 World Cup, where he scored 9 goals.

It's such a shame we're not even in a position where a fan can dream about us signing him.

Chelsea has signed the "new Kaka" today by the way. His name is Lucas Piazon, and Juventus are seething because they thought they had him. He will join in January 2012, when he turns 18. He's been picked for the latest Brazil squad for the game against Scotland at the Emirates.

Thats entirely how I felt as well. Just think of the top european strikers who are world class, but compared to someone like R9.

Ridiculous even now the young stars like Lucas Piazon is going to be expensive and embroiled in tug-o-wars with big clubs. Even more ridiculous how many brilliant talents is coming out of South America year in year out and we keep signing duds from there. Utter duds. We need to sack Sandro Ordelli.

😆

Don't be silly. It's undoubtable that Wenger is informed of every single one of those players coming out of south america.

And we signed those Wellington Denilson Pedro?

What's your point? Scouts don't sign players.

Scouts recommended them to Wenger though. I am sure we could have signed Dani Alves, Maicon, Kaka, Lucas, Sandro, Alex, Julio Cesar etc if we discovered them early.

Wenger has a list about as long as his arm of south american talents that we missed out on because of work permits etc.; guys like Ronaldinho, Kaka and Messi. It's not that he isn't aware of them (which would indeed be the scout's fault), it's that we can't sign them or he doesn't want to.

You can't really snap them up early in every case - if they have their wits about them they will ensure they have an opportunity to shop themselves around at several big clubs - bigger than Arsenal - before making a final decision.

To be fair, even withe benefit of hindsight and being able to see what those players have developed into, I'd only want Julio Cesar, Maicon and Kaka to have come our way.

Alex would be sweet too. Alves is a good player, though a complete twunt.

For the record, I don't think Clrnc is talking about the Liverpool Lucas there, he means the guy that Chelsea just picked up.

Not sure he does, because he talks above as if he didn't know he had been bought yet.

Alves would be brilliant for us. I am talking about the Pool Lucas anyway. Been great for them this season.

Sandro and Lucas is better than Denilson anyway, thats my point. Theres so many superstars in Brazil but we never ever signed any before, closest being Gilberto?

Edu I suppose, though he was a good player it'd be stretching the term "superstar", but he came to us straight from Brazil.
