They're paying 18m for him apparently. Thought that was a crazy amount when I heard it with him only having a year left on his contract, but after watching tonight I can see why.

He's got four years on Neuer and he's shown his ability to make outstanding saves. We'll see if he becomes as good as the German.

I hope to god United doesn't get Neuer.

I was looking at the game yesterday and cursing Neuer's performance. Ferguson has just had a front row seat to a great performance. He'll probably send Neuer a card congratulating him on the performance and then ask Glazer for 25 million pounds

The fact that De Rossi has been rubbish pretty much every time I've seen Roma play against an English club would make me very, very hestitant to spend any significant money on him.

Same, but I'm very ignorant to a lot of Serie A players' abilities. Would rather De Rossi holding the midfield than Song though.

de Rossi is that guy who allows Cesc to play a 4 4 1, or just gives us a stronger base next to Song, or a strong base behind Jack and Cesc.

Of course, he will go to Barca, Chelsea or most likely United. He is the closest thing to a Keane replacement if Ferguson has any interest in reacquainting himself with such a character. This one guy gives us two-way ability in the park, grit, passion, co-captain all in one package.

No chance Silent Stan is going to shell out the euros for De Rossi though. And thats why we win nothing, because we are never in for the top players.

I hope we're looking at centre-backs, defensive midfielders and left backs. I reckon there's quite a few knocking about that would improve us.

As for the forward/winger we need, assuming we carry on playing the same kind of football, I dont see the point in buying one unless he's something really special. Basically, spend the money to get a top player in or dont bother. We've already got good quality attacking players, but in this system we need someone who can unlock defences week-in week-out with a bit of genuis.
