Maybe this Nasri thing might work in our favor. I know I'm reaching for hope here, but imagine if his agent just says to Kroenke, "Nasri wants out now or will leave on a free next season because he's tired of this shyte!" Kroenke might have to take measures to ensure neither of those things happen - bring in the quality Nasri and Fabregas demand and/or dump Wenger

Yep, it's a possiblity. The more the fans and players share their disgruntledness, the more chance it has of registering with the decision makers.

The players have a lot more power than the fans, Dules, so I hope a cabal of senior players communicates with ownership that we need to invest. I'm thinking here of a delegation of Nasri, van Persie and Fabregas going up to Kroenke or Gazidis and saying "Bring in reinforcements or we collectively want out".

The fans will have very little power until they can collectively stay away or mount mass protests at the Emirates. Unrest amongst the players is our best hope

Well, Captain, I'm a Lakers fan. Kobe Bryant basically told the Laker management that he would go if they didn't bring in better players. They quickly went from a mediocre roster to the best squad in the NBA. It all took about a year to put together. The threat of losing a truly great player was enough to spur the Laker management into action. Some of the fans at the time said Kobe was full of himself, etc.

3 finals and 2 championships later, nobody complains about that hold-up. Still think it's a fucking wish and a half?

Well, Caligula, I follow football, Arsenal to be precise. They play in the premiership. Thierry Henry/Robert Pires/Freddie Ljungberg/Cesc Fabregas/Robin Van Persie (delete as necessary) basically told the management that he would go if they didn't bring in better players. Nothing happened and depending upon who you deleted they got sold.

(You can apply the same to ManU and change the players to Rooney, Keane, VanNistelrooy. Liverpool and Gerrard, Mascherano, Torres... you get the idea)

Unfortunately Wenger holds too much power at the club, the board love him he's a tight fisted owners wet dream.
Imagine a manager who not only doesn't demand loads of money to improve the team but actually aims to make money and who keeps the CL gravy train rolling on.
And all he asks in return is to do whatever he wants on the football side, all the players represent are assets who can be traded.

The board are like parents who never ask where their teenager goes or what they get up to at night as long as they keep their room tidy and get reasonable grades at school.
And that in a way is understandable as they are only interested in the bottom line- money.
But what is less understandable is the support Wenger receives from supporters who are football people and above all (you would think) want to see their team winning trophies.

Nasri isn´t going anywhere. He is brilliant when on top of his game but he is still VERY inconsistent. Which club better than Arsenal is he going to go to and be a nailed on starter?

He seems like a smart guy, and the best choice for him, for now at least, is to stay here.
