Don't know why people don't like Sneijder. Rumors are he can be had for next to nothing if teams are willing to pay the bulk of his 200k for the remainder of his contract. Your idea is a sensible one. I don't think of him as 200k player at this point (maybe 3 years ago), but your suggestion would greatly improve offense.

Cant believe wengers is sleeping with all these players available in the market that would improve us instantly. Sniejder might take a pay cut to the range of 120k which we can afford and then it might make the bayern match interesting.

2 years ago, Sneijder was probably the best player in Europe. he played out of his skin. pity he wasn't at Barca that year, else he would've swept awards. (Btw, this Barca/Madrid fascination at award time is sickening).

It's not 2010 anymore. Sneijder is obviously a very talented footballer, but he seems to be past it and is on ridiculous wages. Also, he's the type of player that's little use when he's not at his best.

What makes you say he is past it? The reason he hasnt played this season is because he is refusing to accept a major pay cut for a team not in the cl.

Damiao and sneijder would be great realistic signings. And then add in a central midfielder

Past it may have been a tad too harsh, but he wasn't anywhere near his 2010 CL level whenever I saw him last season. He's 28, has hardly played this season and the wages he's on would make him an unnecessary risk. Not to mention that we've got 2 very good players in his position already.

I'd much rather invest in a quality striker or a more defensive midfielder that could play alongside/replace Arteta.
