Nah, if it were up to me, we would have signed Reus and Kagawa in their respective windows. Not overly bothered about any of the other names that crop up from time to time.

I like the Cabaye rumour for this reason. Could play them in pair, could play Cabaye deeper whenever Arteta's missing. We're still a player light in that scenario but it's a start. We should have sorted this out months ago, really.

There are always loads of good players out there. Look at Gustavo for example. I'd never heard of him before Bayern bought him, but he's an excellent destructive defensive midfielder.

I'm not sure what Wenger wants at this stage though, a defensive ball winner, or more of a box to box to play in a double pivot with Arteta.

From what Wenger said about signing some "top, top class midifleder, that is completely defensive", you'd have to think he wants a sitter? With Arteta moving further forward or out of the team?

Personally I think he meant a Gattuso type; someone who presses high to make room for the deeplying midfielder and defends very deep. The Tiote rumours make sense from that perspective. I'd rather go for Cabaye if we're about to raid Newcastle on central midfielders though.

I think we probably interpret it how we want to interpret it, depending on how we want the team shaped. Guess we'll know what he meant in 4 or 5 days.

Yeah I'd pretty pleased with Dembele replacing Diaby in the starting XI and us signing a quality wide AM or striker.

Podolski looks miles better playing from the left. If he's going to play deeper or wide for most of the season we need another centre forward.

I'm still undecided on were his best position is but I hope Arsene sees it that way as we need another top forward regardless

He drifts too much into the middle, to a point we had Gibbs permanently as LW throughout the match. Destroy our shape tbh.

We have this problem now where both Podolski and Gervinho's best position is LW and we have no decent RW

At this stage I'd take Dempsey, though that would only on the basis of him reproducing his goalscoring form from last season.

Ox really needs to be a starter, were not going to see his true potential until then.

Jovetic got a brace yesterday and is just the sort of signing to take us to another level. The guy's going to explode and I'd love for it to happen at the Emirates.
