If we'd signed Alvarez we probably wouldn't have got Arteta so I'm happier with our man.

I didn't say he plays the same position. I said we wouldn't have signed Arteta.

Had Wilshere not been injured we wouldn´t have bought Arteta even. Wenger pretty much said so.

Which means Wenger had envisaged our midfield for this season as Song - Wilshere - Ramsey. Yikes!

And now he's going to play Jack in a position he didn't think was his best in August.

I think Wenger sees Ramsey as more of an attacker than Wilshere right now.

Yep from reports we went for Gervinho and Alvarez as soon as the window opened to replace cesc and nasri. Zanetti claimed he rang Alvarez and convinced him to join Inter. So we went for Gotze. That fell through and he went for M'Vila. And eventually settled for Arteta.

So the plan seemed to be
DM from Wilshere, Song, Frimpong, Coq
CM from Mvia or Arteta, Wilshere, Diaby
AM from Alvarez, Gotze, Ramsey, Rosicky

The plan wasn't that bad some of the fingers of blame have to be pointed at how long it takes our negotiators to close these deals. Dein admitted he just added a little to Wengers valuation to get deals done.

Wenger said he loved the partnership Jack and Aaron had in pre-season. That you could see very quickly that there was something special there. It's going to be very interesting to see what he chooses to do when Jack's back.

He´ll most likely rotate Ramsey, Wilshere and Arteta. Less game time for Rozza and Benayoun.

Sticking to the idea that Wilshere will start in the attack when he gets back. There's an opening on the left side for someone with his skillset. The ACN provides us with a good opportunity to try it out for a few weeks too. If it doesn't work out we've got Gervinho to fall back on.

A few weeks, Klaus? When does the ACoN finish then? Remember Wilshere's not due back for at the very least two weeks, maybe longer than that?
