I really hope we're talking to Montolivo. It would be so easy to sign him. He wants to go and Fiorentina would jump at the chance of selling him to a club abroad. They'd sooner knock off half the fee than let Milan have him.

It's a shame because I'm happy with the signings that we have made but it's just not enough.

We could have got Montolivio weeks or months ago, though. Either we're not interested or he isn't. But anyway, isn't it much better to be starting Showgun Ketchup and Francis Coquelin at old Trafford than a classy Italian international midfielder!?

I don't think there's anything wrong with our signings either per se. We needed both breadth and edge this summer. Park and Cahill will definitely provide breadth. M'Vila too if he does come, though we don't really need him. It's the edge that is lacking and I fear it will cost us.

Why would someone like M'Vila imperil his chances of being a France regular and potentially skipper by messing around with our midtable midgets?
i can't see players of a higher profile than Chu Yong Park wanting anything to do with us. This last minute shopping is the biggest miscalculation in human history.

Yes, but he is starting for France.
Our team looks in real disarray. 10 months before a European Cup, I think I would be very cautious about jeorpadizing that starting position or even place on the French squad. It is said that a lot of French players are nervous about missing out on national team caps following Nasri's exclusion from the World Cup.

Playing at a top six side in the premiership is better than playing at a top six side in ligue 1. It's that simple.

Best we can hope for at this stage is Park, Cahill and Montolivo? That's not going to get us anyway. We really have to sort out our lb situation and our lack of creativity up front. We need at least 2 players on top of the mentioned 3.
