If you rewatch the Ozil goal you can see Kanté denilsoning back to cover the counter. So satisfying to see. We mentally broke the player who runs the most in Europe.

Yeah. Even if Terry was fit it's gonna be the same. For the past few years, we always had Giroud up front and ignoring his awful misses against Chelsea, their defenders always had our numbers in the air.

We stopped competing physically against Liverpool and that was the problem.

Even at 3-0 up, we had to keep swarming Chelsea to stop them building a head of steam. We looked sharper and better conditioned than them. Some of Chelsea's rough power players like Ivanovich are also on the decline and we exploited this.

McManaman is frankly a horrible commentator, hatred of Arsenal aside. No idea what these TV companies are thinking when they recruit some of these pundits. I prefer ex managers rather than ex players because they are realistic and actually know what they are talking about. Hoddle's knowledge of the game is still excellent for someone who has been out of football for a long time. I think he was the first to spot Conte going for wing backs and 3 at the back in the second half.

I agree - BT Sports commentators are awful. I have no idea why they have to have 3 of them as well - I'd be happier to listen to the crowd noise.

Pretty sure McManaman's 'solution' to most of our passing moves was to suggest that Chelsea should start fouling us.

I'm not English but I too thought this was very weird. I know there's a North-South divide in the country but looking at the (football related) media you'd think London is somewhere in Scotland. Imagine someone like Harry Redknapp co-commentating Liverpool at Goodison, there'd be riots around Merseyside

Neville's analysis is slightly less shit than his peers' but it's nothing that deserves respect. I'll be honest I fell for it too at the beginning as he's not as offensively thick as your Shearers and Hansens but after a while you'll recognise him for what he is, a bastard with an iPad adding some slightly fresh spin to the same old clichés everybody else is spouting

And as General states in his post I'm pretty sure at least some are bothered with their origin. It's nothing dramatic but if you're already paying for subscription you might at least get someone with some background on the derby.

They do try to get the pundits in the studio to be people who have some history with the fixture, yesterday they had Zola and Wrighty.

It's hard to have commentators to be fixture specific - no one minded with Andy Gray and Martin Tyler did every single big game for Sky Sports. Mainly because they don't have irritating high pitch voices

Great performance, was shitting it before this game but we blew them away. The back four looking a lot stronger as well and in attack played with such aggression and fluency. Great feeling when we pull these performances off against good sides.

The commentators nowadays is not a patch on Tyler's and Gray's during those classic PL years. They make games sound dull.
