Alexis is what we needed in a CF. He was poor in 2 games we played him there last season because we did not play to his strengths. We kept treating him like Giroud, crossing and pumping high balls for him. This season, it took awhile to click but it looked better and better. Our goalscoring record when he played up front says it all, it's been really healthy this season. When Giroud came on, he looked pretty off the pace and we couldn't feed through balls to him the same way we did.
Long may this continue. We still have Lucas to bed in and hopefully it will be good for us but right now our balance on the pitch is great.
I hope Coquelin's injury is nothing serious. Honestly, him and Cazorla bossed the fuck out of Chelsea's midfield for majority of the game, covering so much grounds. Once again, they excel in yet another big game. When Xhaka came on, he did the things he excel in well but he is just now as mobile as Coq and you can see certain aspect that he still need maybe a few more matches to get going or adapt to the league.
It's often been missed but Cazorla complements Ozil so well. Their combination play was extremely effective throughout the game (look at the amount of touches and passes they both have). The 2nd goal was also a result of intelligent play by Santi and Iwobi. Monreal also links up extremely well and today he was superb both in attack and defence.
