it's great. it provides stability. he knows that he has a year to become the best midfielder he can be. and be part of something. imagine if he goes and bosses it at Palace for a year, and then comes back to be part of some rotation at Arsenal. it also gives the gaffer time to figure out what he is doing with his squad. if Wilshere sucks or continues to be injured, he can start to plan the end. if Wilshere is hot, then we can look at offing one of Cazorla/Coquelin and bringing him back.
this is good management by Wenger. on both Wilshere and Chambers. last season was such a wasted year for Chambers. he learned zero sitting behind Gabriel and Bellerin
