With the depth we have in midfield, loaning Jack out was essential. It's good he's at Bournemouth because there's no way he'd get that 90 minutes at Arsenal.

I'd assume he'd be under a contractual obligation not to refer to his status as an Arsenal player while at Bournemouth—not to mention it just isn't good etiquette.

There's a little rust in Jacks game that can only be fixed with regular game time which he was never going to get here. This is definitely a good move and in hindsight, Bournemouth is the perfect place for him to do that without too much pressure and in the position he needs with a good sensible manager.

Calum Chambers' game by numbers vs. Bournemouth:

100% aerial duels won
86% pass accuracy
8 clearances
4 interceptions
2 tackles won

Had a good game today.

Has there been any match reports on how the Nigerian lad is doing on loan? I know he had finally gotten a start here and there but no report on his performances.

Just watched MOTD. Looked like Wilshere at his best.

I watched the first half and jack looked good. Bournemouth play very good passing football now which is ideal for him.

Eh? He's only started 2 of their last 7 games and got subbed off a half time in one of them. And he's scored less than Ox. And this is in the Portuguese league.

And he's been criticized heavily in the Portuguese press.

Even though i don't think he has a future with us, i thought Campbell did rather well in the Premiership last season.

He did what you could expect from a 3rd choice player, yeah. Its just that last season our 1st and 2nd choice players did worse than him.

You are right and it was unfortunate that a 3rd choice player, as you rate him, was often our best performer on the day but constantly got dropped for non-performing 1st and 2nd choice players. Never heard him moan so i wish him all the best.

Next 2 months is make or break for his season. I was reading an update about his loan spell and apparently Jorge Jesus put him on the LW for most of his games this season where he struggled. They have their most talented player since Nani in Gelson Martins playing on the right, which means his favoured position isn't available most of the time to start in. They couldn't find a position for him in the team so he was on the bench. That has changed after they found him to be a great SS for Dost, he had a MOTM performance last time around. He should start most matches in that position the next few months if it was to be a successful loan. Their fans has been calling for him to start instead of the Jesus's favoured players.

He was heavily criticised in the Portugese press for celebrating a last minute goal he scored in the 95th min against some relegation fodders. Sporting fans was incensed and thought he should have restarted the match immediately.

Wilshere with a MOTM performance yesterday.

Good thing that he won't be able to play next weekend.

We could really use him right now with Caz crocked.

He should be here right now in the form he's in.

A month ago most people here couldn't wait to get rid of him.

Jack's fine where he is. Let him have a full, uninterrupted season where he's playing once a week. Then get him back and integrate him into the team properly next preseason and we'll be golden.

We could have done with Chambers as right back yesterday.

What was Wenger thinking it would be a good idea to have Carl Jenkinson fill a spot in the squad?

he wouldnt be in any kind of form if we didnt loan him, which is kind of the point

Not sure Chambers would have offered anything more than Jenkinson yesterday.

Jenkinson is certainly quicker which helped him with Martial / Rashford, and if the major complain with Jenko was how he did going forward than that would likely still have existed for Chambers.

Chambers is miles better than Jenko when we are in possession IMO.

Jenkinson is a better right back than Chambers. Needs a lot of time to get up to speed but at least he's natural in that position, better athleticism and crossing as well. Chambers never looked like anything but a centre back to me.

A year loan is too long just to get him fit. We should've either gone for a recall option or agreed on a 6 month loan till January. Would've returned like a new signing to give us a boost for the rest of the season.

Top class player. To think we're starting the likes of Elneny at Old Trafford while he lines up for fucking Bournemouth....infuriating.

I'm sure the loaning club were looking for a year though, so there are other factors to consider. And Wilshere needed both fitness and form, so 6 months may not have cut it. All in all I still think this was loan was agood idea. We will have to see how it all pans  out at the end of the season.

Wilshere should not be rushed back to the club in January. Let him put together a real season. This loan is the best thing to happen to him in years which is exactly why it's now being questioned.

So pleased to see him doing well. I can't imagine Wenger will allow him to leave.

Yep, got to take a step back and let him develop. If things go well, he'll potentially be at Arsenal for a while to come and it's more important he gets a full, uninterrupted seasons under his belt.

Usually when he starts playing well, he gets an injury but hopefully by playing for Bournemouth and under less pressure, he'll be able to play a more natural game. Our seasons won't be decided on whether Wilshere lines up for us or not and we can still boost the squad in January (spoiler: we won't).

Goal and an assist for Asano tonight:

How did Wilshere do against Pool?

Supposedly had a great game and everything Bournemouth did from an attacking perspective went through him. Only worry is 0 goals, 0 assists this season (I think).

I only watched the first half, which I now in hindsight sort of regret, but in that first half Wilshere did very, very little.

I only watched the last 30 mins, which in hindsight turned out to be a great decision, but he didn't do much there either. He played a small part in the second goal but that was about it. There was one other moment where he had time and space on the edge of the box from a corner only to volley it high and wide.

The lack of end product is a concern given he's playing at no.10, but for now I'm just glad he's able to stay fit and find some form.
