Estimate by @AST_arsenal was £96m for signings. After Xhaka/Holding/Asano/Kalechi & £40+m CB (Mustafi 1st choice), not much left for CF #AFC

Absolute joke 😆

That is almost as ridiculous as having to feed 600 employees when we are forced to include Asano and Kalechi in the reckoning to explain to fans that we have no money left

No, actually for some reason £100m as a transfer kitty doesnt sound too far fetched. I mean, i do believe we have £200m+ cash reserve, but i doubt its all for use over one window.

Mustafi isn't the only CB in the world. Wenger takes ages with transfers.

Perez is probably a backup in case plan a fails. And we had to get involved after Everton triggered the clause.

Nonsense.

Means we have the maximum of £40m budget left and that CB is planned. Not that we're signing a £40m CB.

Firstly this is what Ornstein said "& £40+m CB"

And secondly given Xhaka signed for 25-30m it would mean that we signed Holding, Asana and Kelechi for a combined 20-25m which simply isn't true.

Yeah, it depends on if it's a one off though. 100m year on year would be more than enough.

As a one off its a little low. Still better than our previous seasons.

He wasn't saying those guys cost us 96m, he was saying after those guys there's not much left for a striker, i.e. there'd only be 20m odd left for a Perez type signing.

That's not what it says.

The 'pot' of money is effectively 96m.

It doesn't mean we've spent that much so far.

If anything, if we followed Ornstein's maths, it would leave us with approximately 20m which is what we bid for Vardy and now Perez.

The 40m on Mustafi is a bit steep though.

This looks like a horseshit tweet. First off since when is that attention craving asshole Tim Payton's word gospel, then you have that nonsensical calculation including a bunch of infants acquired for spare change and lastly we're never in a million fucking years making a centre back our record signing, especially after we've waited for so long in the window

Ornstein gets a lot of info from the club but even if I don't remember the specific transfer he's been caught talking a lot of bullshit and jumping on bandwagons in the past before. Looks like he's fleshing out the info he's gotten from the club with some "reliable" info from the AST

Well if you're gullible enough to believe whatever Ornstein is fed by Arsenal to defend themselves.

And as far as the forward goes we clearly also had a 30m bid for lacazette confirmed by Lyon too.

Yeah, that is BS from Ornstein.

Of course Ornstein is speculating, he's not exactly disguising it either.

He's playing for relegation battlers Depor, of course he'll find himself in space. Look at how much space fucking PL winner Vardy found himself in time and time again last season, if he can do well there's little reason Lucas shouldn't be able to

His finishing and movement looks quality but then at Arsenal he will not have as much space in behind. The compilation I saw of last season only showed goals and assists, if you have seen him in matches perhaps it will be helpful if you could shed some light on other aspects of his game - if he can cope with physicality of the League, can he play with his back to goal?

He could turn out to be another Pires/ Payet, or he could be our very own Soldado. I would rather we signed him than no one. Wenger is desperate and hopefully he turns out to be what we need.

Don't think he'd struggle with the league, he dominated teams like Atlético who are more physical than any EPL side, others like Athletic too who also play pretty rough. He doesn't play with his back to goal as much as someone like Giroud but similar to Suárez he's able to do it as he's tenacious enough to do it, not a brickhouse but no pushover either. His holdup play comes more via his trickery and pace

Not sure if it was here but I wishlisted him in the past. Genuinely can't think of many strikers we were linked with I'd rather than him (don't think Higuain was ever linked here this summer)

Yep, he's even said this is from AST and not the club.

It's clearly one journalist's guess work, not sure what all the reactions are about.

I remember Deportivo needed a draw to avoid relegation at the end of the 14/15 season and their last game was against Barca who didn't need anything from the match as La Liga was already won...

So Barca go 2-0 up and Lucaz Perez starts talking to all the Barca players begging them not to score and to give them a chance. He begged Messi to put aside his pride for Deportivo just once...  Says please to Neymar... Talks to Mascherano during a break in play.

Deportivo scored twice and they stay up.  Lucas Perez scores the first and as he runs back to his half he says Por Favor to Messi... Which is thank you. Says thank you post game to some other players too.

No way you could prove Barca players followed what he said but it is pure emotion with Perez.

That video!!!  😆 😆

It is a rough estimation anyway, its not as if this is a hard cap most likely. I never even thought we'd have all our cash reserves, £200m+ for use over one window, £100m sounds extremely plausible.

Thanks, sounds encouraging. There certainly is an element of intelligence to his game. We need more of that on the pitch for sure.

It's because he's viewed as the club's mouthpiece. Just because you start "according to x" before you post some nonsense doesn't acquit you of being a bullshitter imo

Swiss ramble came up with similar figures once you take expenses for the coming season. It's likely close to the actual figure.

If we get Perez in and a defender we're laughing.

Another hit or miss punt?
Never heard of the guy hence the question mark.

As said, guy was involved in more goals last season than Lacazette and costs about £40m less. What's not to like?
