Rumours of Ozil joining Y***ted in the summer. Wonder what the already ambivalent attitude towards him will transform into if he does that.

That being said, one could argue some of the performamces he pulled off and the form he showed the season before last could be the best form he has produced. Even last year there were times he was creating chances left, right and centre. The likes of which would be getting praised if they were being converted by Ronaldo et al.

If he continues to perform at the same level for United, he will get a lot more oraise because for one they seem a lot more clinical than us, even discounting Lukaku's open goal wastefulness.

That's not how Ozil saw it - he seems to credit Mourinho a fair bit for his development. Maybe he was just being nice - who knows?

I don't think Mournhio is good for Ozil at all. I'm not sure how anyone can believe a creative player would thrive under that massive bore.

The best I've seen Ozil perform is for Germany in South Africa as an 21 year old. Had a lot more flair about his game back then.

He was already looking world class and hit the ground running. All Mourinho managed to do is suppress some of the flair we saw earlier on in his career.

IIRC, didn't he get a bit miffed when Mourinho constantly subbed him off on 70 mins?
I still see the move happening as he is more likely to win trophies there but i hope he realises that he would be moving from a guaranteed starter to a bench rider.
Even then it would be annoying as he would be a better plan B than Fellaini.
I think most supporters will think like this and i anticipate a chorus of boos on his next appearance for us as his not signing is proof enough to the crowd that has never warmed to him.

Yeah, he was sumptuous in that 2010 world cup. I wanted us to sign him immediately after that opening game against Australia. Rarely have I been so immediately struck by a player's quality. Too bad we failed to surround him with intelligent technical players as Germany have.

This damaged him and we see the result now as he was much more potent before he went to Spain.

I don't know why Ozil would like to be managed by Mourinho after his experience with Mourinho in Madrid. Ozil was always the 1st player he targeted whenever things were not going well, regularly taking him off early. It became a big issue at one point to the extent that Ramos (who was Ozil's best mate) started wearing an Ozil shirt under his own as a sort of a protest. He also didn't trust Ozil in the big games and frequently shifted him out to the wings.

I'm always baffled by reports linking Ozil to teams managed by Mourinho.

Not really, I had high hopes when we signed him. You can't tell me he lived up to any expectations at all and if he wants to join United now after 4 underwhelming seasons here he can join Adebayor RVP and co.
