Sanchez is a little prat and I'd be happy to let him rot away on the bench this season if it's true, but who couldn't have predicted something like this when we were willing to sell him one moment and then pulled out of the deal the very next? We shouldn't have welcomed bids for him at all. We said all along that we wouldn't. It's shocking how spineless this club is.

They're most likely completely fabricated too, Chilean newspapers have been peddling bullshit all year. Then again as Klaus said could you blame him for being unhappy given the clusterfuck of a deadline day we've just had?

Gotta say I have got a lot of beef with our current board but they went up my estimation last night for not sanctioning the Sanchez deal once it became clear we weren't getting Lemar. Never thought they'd turn down 60m for a player that will leave for free in 12 months time

I think we might have played both City and Sanchez. First promising the player that we will let him leave if a certain monetary offer came and if we found a replacement. Then pulling out after acting as if we tried. Could be that we seriously just did not want to let Sanchez go.

Anyways, so many theories. Don't really care. If City wanted him that bad and money has never been an issue with them, they could have come in with a £60/ 70 Mn offer earlier.

They won't get abuse or anything. It'll just be flat and there's no 'point' to it - because it's quite hard making 60,000 people behave in a reasonable manner following the start we've just had. If we concede early, the knives will be out again as well - it's what happens when you push fans to their limits and that's something the club should factor in as well but they clearly don't

Besides, based on the last game poor old Giroud, Lacazette, Kolasinac and Theo won't even start!

Heard on here that we are pretty decent at messing players and agents around so I wouldn't doubt that we told Sanchez he could go if we got our target then pulled the deal.

I say either stick to your guns and say you'll have to wait or be upfront and say that there is a figure to be taken. When you tell someone they can leave mentally they are gone, I don't blame sanchez here even though that would seems the obvious thing to do.

I can understand Sanchez. He is stuck in a shit situation, wasting a valuable year of his career, which might have just 3-4 good years left. On the other hand, he signed a contract here and has no one to blame for that but himself.

I think we should have sold him and Ozil. That way, we would have at least gotten some money in return. We won't finish in the top four this year, with or without the two, so it really doesn't make any sense not selling the two of them.
