Exactly. People play these fantasy games of "oh he's got a release, lets get him. Such and such is moving lets get him" it doesn't mean they want to come to Arsenal.
That clarifies your point. Sounded like you were implying that people aren't trying to buy him because he's overrated. Was close to responding that this isn't football manager and even Real and Barca (let alone Arsenal) would find it hard to buy him if he feels a sense of loyalty to Atletico in terms of moving to their rivals. There is no way anyone would bid for someone who has explicitly said he would not be leaving this season and signed a contract extension. This is not limited to Arsenal. Teams don't usually go around bidding for players unless they have some kind of indication from the player that he is willing to join the club, even if they did have a release clause.
Anyways who knows if there is a release clause or not? Who knows if he would even join Arsenal or not even if we had triggered this alleged release clause? The whole point of my first comment was to refute Anzac's claim that just because we wouldn't stump up for Lemar at a 50-60m doesn't mean we won't pay more for a player of Griezmann's abilities if we genuinely believed we could convince him to join. Let's be honest, does anyone here believe that Wenger would turn down the chance to sign Messi for 150m right now if he had the money and was convinced Messi and Barca would say yes to the deal?
